Here's a thought. If you are this fixated on the practice of circumcision, which is your right, then why not start your own thread? I bet that could end up being one of the most entertaining threads in the history of the PT Board.

But like I've already said, this thread had NOTHING to do with circumcision. For you to make it into that, and then accuse me of being anti-semitic tells me that you have issues.

That's my honest opinion after reading your crazy, nonsensical comments in this thread.

Because of the magnitude attached to making this decision. 1) I've known several 18 year-old people who were incredibly immature, and 2) At 18, a person could still be strongly under the influence of a parent or teacher. This is a life-changing decision, and I want the person who will be making this decision to be as free of outside influences as possible.

This is a solid point, but kind of hard to ignore that at 18, you're mature enough to vote, buy a long gun, enlist/be drafted into the military, and be sentenced to death for a capital crime. (But you can't buy alcohol! )

Yeah, I understand. I just think this decision is so monumental and life-changing that an older age of 21 would further reduce the twin complications of immaturity and outside influence.

I'll be honest and say that I personally abhor the transgender process at any age. Ellen Page was 33 years old at the time she went thru the process. I had a bit of a crush on her, and I can't look at her today without thinking "What a shame."

But since this is "a thing" now, was it my place to tell her she couldn't do it? I don't think so, even though I honestly think she made a terrible mistake. Besides, my #1 issue is making sure that this doesn't happen to children (Which, of course I have ZERO ability to stop it).

Circumcision is mutilation. It is just generally accepted mutilation.

In 2016 there were 4600 gender altering surgeries in the entire United States. By 2020 there was about triple that due to insurance companies AND medicaid picking up in some states.

There are now 2.8 million people who identify as trans.

That tells me there are about 13K people who are trans and millions who are just seeking attention or need mental help.

So for an issue affecting 13K the whole fcking US is up in arms to try and make them happy.

There are 1 million legally blind people in the US that no one gives a shite about, but the previous administration wanted to spend 10s of billions on bathrooms across the US for 13K people.

Only if you're generalizing the definition to such a point that things like the removal of tumors, breast reduction, etc. is also a mutilation. At that vague a definition, it's not even worth having the conversation any longer because nothing has meaning.

My take is as an adult you can get whatever surgery or dress however.

Don't expect special treatment and don't push it on kids.

1) I would start by making the mutilation of children illegal.

2) IMO, anybody who reaches the age of 21 and wants to go through the transgender process should be free to do it, AS LONG AS THEY PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES

99% of dems agree with this, believe it or not.

You defined the only points that matter - anything else is just blather

Why this is not evident to everyone is a mystery -

So here goes, and I'll use a bullet-point format:

This doesn't settle how we have to treat an adult (or a child) who thinks they are the opposite sex. Do they get to use the bathrooms, compete in the sports, insist other people use the pronouns for that sex?

Thanks.

Concerning that second line, I have that thought often when I come here.

My take:

It's simply a fact that a man who goes thru the transgender process still has the DNA of a man. So, biologically-born men should be banned from participating in women's sports or using women's bathrooms. I actually consider this to be a civil rights issue, but it's biologically-born women who need to be protected.

I don't do the pronoun thing for anybody, and if they want to be offended then they can be offended.

As usual, you contribute nothing.

Are you unaware that children have had this done to them? How many children have to go thru this before you give a damn about it?

As usual, you're just a trolling weirdo.

When an infant male gets circumsized, what gender does that now make him?

Maybe that's because it:

1. Doesn't affect the function of the body part in question, like, at all.

2. Doesn't claim to change the recipient into a completely different person with a different gender and identity.

3. Isn't medically dangerous...again, like, at all.

4. Doesn't leave the recipient sterile.

Other than those things, sure, they're practically the same procedure.

My Take Regarding the Issue of Transgenderism

I think trans isn't the real issue. The rejection of objective reality and truth is the real issue.

What CAN'T politicians get people to believe if they can get them to believe men can be women, and vice versa, just by playing pretend?

Look at the people who support this whole trans mess. They are all unthinking automatons who just regurgitate literally anything the TV tells them to. Politicians' wet dream.
