re: Why would China not be able to take down Taiwan easily?
Posted by TaipeiTiger on 3/16/26 at 12:49 am to WKUHilltopper
I live in Taipei. They can easily take us out with cross straight missiles and naval warfare if you are talking about targeting infrastructure, military sites and assets.
Ground warfare would be problematic but China has set up several fake cities for military training and they will heavily rely on drones.
Our goal is to make it a pain in their arse to take the island. Since the terrain consists of multiple environments, urban, rocky coastal, jungle, forested mountains. Our summers and falls mimic Louisiana with sweltering heat and humidity and hurricanes.
Thankfully Trump is hitting their resources and continues to cripple their economy. But when they have a high unemployment rate which they do currently, their people will protest or be forced to fight in a war.

Middle managers exist as a stepping stone to higher level positions at Amazon.
You have to show that you are managing a team well and creating value even if it means building shite the company doesn't need. It's why so many people in corporate hate working there and end up quitting once they've vested.
It also doesn't help that frugality is one of their core leadership principles.

re: Trump OKs NVIDIA selling H200 GPUs to China. USA gets 25% of the revenue from sales

The CCP has already moved to restrict companies from purchasing Nvidia chips a few months ago.

Amazon is built on bubblegum and Scotch tape. One of their key leadership ideals is frugalness. IE being a cheap bastard.

M$FT, always late to the game. Phones, tablets, cloud, and AI. They've done nothing since windows 95 and office.

Works in Taiwan. The more you make the more you pay for your insurance premium. But there is a cap.
Elective surgery and some other types of treatment aren't covered but it works well. An ER trip with my kid costs me 20 bucks usd.
Clinics are feeders to hospitals and visits are less than ten bucks including medicine. Pharmacy is onsite.
Hospital wait times can be long. Ther is queueing which you can monitor on your phone.

re: Do any of you wear latex gloves when working on your vehicles?
Posted by TaipeiTiger on 6/2/25 at 7:21 am to Shexter
As a former mechanic latex are far superior to nitrile. They can handle chemicals and not rip and fall apart as easily. Gloveworks hd latex is the brand I prefer but are more expensive than nitrile. If you are doing basic soy boy shite on your car then nitrile is fine.

That's not what he says he believes. He is debunking the 300-400 million. There is definitely more than that there.
re: Prime Minister of Singapore is live now talking global trade relations and history of U.S.

The CEO of tik tok went to work for China's bytedance , the parent company. Cotton was addressing his ties with the CCP. Which in atiablt you do since you work for the largest revenue generating company in China.
Even my neighbor who is Taiwanese (I live in Taiwan btw) married to a Singaporean told me that Singapore is friendly with China in a bad way.
Tom Cotton was not dumb, he was trying to get the CEO to slip up.

What he means it's that China is more likely to harm its own citizens first. Such as destroying cash crops and making farmers grow rice and soy.

But he has factories in China and Europe capable of producing model 3's and Y's. Supply chains are also pretty well contained regionally too. Batteries might be the one thing that he's upset over.
re: Do you think Musk regrets getting into politics? Sales and stocks are falling fast

He's competing now with fsd being released three. Chinese are posting videos and saying how Chinese self driving doesn't come close to the humans like driving of Tesla's fsd. Their software are full of bugs and built very cheaply.
re: As JPMorgan Chase enforces a 5-day RTO, staffers complain about too few desks, spotty Wi-F
Posted by TaipeiTiger on 3/12/25 at 9:25 am to Mingo Was His NameO
This is what happened with Amazon when they enforced 3-day RTO. It's less about collaboration and more about getting rid of bloat without having to pay severance. Non-compliance is also seen as voluntary resignation.
