The deficit when Trump leaves office is going to be 40+ Trillion and nothing will have been done to fix the deficit.
What I said is a fact.

This is a reconciliation bill. Only certain things can be included. It literally cannot do what you're crying about.

I definitely like a lot of this

Child tax credit. This program was started in 1997 at $400, but of course daddy government wants to use it to buy votes…
In your head, any benefit to tax payers is buying votes right?

Why’s musk butthurt about the bill ?

If you read some of the threads here, you would believe that this is just a typical progressive social program and pork bill. It isn’t perfect, but those are things Trump voters want and the country needs. Hopefully, they can make a few changes and satisfy the “no” republicans.

quote:fact of the matter is what this bill does to the deficit, as written, over 5+ years, is wholly dependent on growth. Which is more of a guess than a prediction (any direction).
Steven Colbert tell you that?
You could eliminate the guesswork with a whole lot more cuts.
It could be worse and rely on a completely unrealistic growth prediction (such as the Inflation Reduction Act at 6%) and guarantee to add to the deficit.
The OBB is like a catcher who has 0 passed balls, manages every pitcher including closers excellent, is a whiz at scouting, no one dares to steal on, and even has a couple of pickoffs... but bats .192.
It could be much better in some really significant and important areas, no doubt. But IF made up for elsewhere in the line up then it is ok. In the end, you are still looking for an upgrade though.

Is there a list of the negatives?
I keep hearing all the fear mongering about how it's going to ruin the country but how? Is there anything specific or just you know muh Trump bad..

1. No taxes on tips — servers, bartenders, and bellhops just got a raise Promises made, promises kept
This is retarded populist pandering and picking winners and losers which real conservatives are against. All labor should be taxed the same. MAGA once again is NOT conservative.
quote:
2.Made Trump tax cuts permanent — Biden wanted them to expire.
Exploding deficits and debts and slashing taxes is never a good recipe.
quote:
3.Child tax credit raised to $2,500
Meh. I'm not losing sleep over this as it is pennies in the grand scheme.
quote:
4.Overtime pay tax-free — work hard, actually keep more.
See 1. above. More retarded pandering and picking winners and losers from MAGA. MAGA has never been accused of being a coherent philosophy.
quote:
5.$1.6 trillion in spending cuts — the largest rollback of government bloat in U.S. history.
What is the baseline for these "cuts"?
quote:
6.Work requirement for welfare — able-bodied? Then get off the couch.
Wasn't this tried under Clinton and failed? How are you enforcing this? Won't this require more bureaucracy to enforce? Light on details here that are important.
quote:
7.Deporting 1 million illegal immigrants per year — no more catch and release.
8. Builds the wall—finishes it — 701 miles of serious border protection. Massive!
9.10,000 new ICE agents — law and order at the border. Huge!
Fine. But I doubt the wall will be finished.
quote:
11.“Trump Savings Accounts” for kids — build generational wealth from birth. Game changer.
Who is funding these "savings accounts"? Most families can barely afford a $400 emergency. Never use the term "generational wealth" as it just proves you are a moron mouth breather who watching too much redpill content.
quote:
12.Slashes IRS funding — no more 87,000 new agents breathing down your neck.
Retarded. The IRS is tasked with collecting and enforcing the tax laws. I thought MAGA was for law and order and reducing the debt? Or is this differen(T)?
quote:
13.Green New Deal defunded — no more money for solar BS.
Yea...screw alternative forms of energy...only soys want to use the sun to power things.
quote:
14.Energy production unleashed — back to drilling, fracking, etc
Was this even a real problem or just imagined by MAGA?
quote:
15.Tariffs on Chinese-built ships — protect American shipbuilders.
Oh so tariffs are creating jobs now? I thought they were replacing the income tax? lmao. Shrodinger's tariffs once again.
quote:
16.Buy American, build American — required on all infrastructure projects.
What if Mexico can make a product better and cheaper?
quote:
17.Estate tax protections expanded — family farms and businesses stay in the family.
This is retarded as almost noone pays the estate tax. Waste of time and can be avoided with proper planning. This is a boogeyman that doesn't exist.
quote:
18.Repeals DEI mandates — merit matters again. DEI is dying.
Ahh yes as Trump only hires the best people as we have seen. I'm sure merit is coming back lmao. Sure, Jan.
quote:
19.Bans taxpayer-funded gender ideology in federal agencies.
More retarded culture war BS.
quote:
21.National missile defense (“Golden Dome”)
Who is a credible threat that requires this? Seems like a MIC slush fund blackhole of bullshite.
quote:
22.HSA accounts expanded — use them for direct primary care.
Wut? Need more details here as that is what HSAs are already for lmao.
quote:
23.School choice tax credits — parents, not unions, control education. Historic!
Yes because this current crop of parents have shown themselves to be completely rational and not bulldoze every problem from little Johnny's life and always blame the teachers for their little shite head.
quote:
24.Feds barred from mandating pronoun usage.
More culture war BS that doesn't matter.
Not even halfway through and there is already too much retardation.

The frick does that have to do with anything? I would HOPE they wouldn't want to do one dang thing like the last administration did. But that's just me.

I wasn't aware that a Presidential term was 6 months. I always thought it was 4 years. We are at a whopping 9% out of 100% of his term linit.
A new President has one year to make major changes. Trump is half done. In another six months we will be in the mid-term election season, and there’s no way those half-wits are going to move major legislation. And when the elections are done Trump will be a lame duck with two years left. He will also probably be facing a Democrat led House that will probably impeach him at least once. Nothing big will get done in Trump’s last three years.

They also shouldn’t be demanding $15 hr at fast food
Why not? The goal of labor is to get paid as much for their labor as they can. Who are you to decide what fast food labor should demand?
This is just more wah, i don't like it so it is bad nonsense.

Grown arse adults shouldn’t be working entry level jobs their whole lives.
Who is going to serve you that Big Mac at noon on Tuesday when school is in session?
There is nobility in going to work every day even at the local McDonald's. Get off your high horse, pal.

Sooooo, if there is no tax on overtime(which is awesome), won't your annual total on w2 time will show much less federal/state taxes pulled from gross amount therefore making us owe more money or lose more on your return or will there be an exemption for overtime? Can someone explain how it will work?
The employee will have to take the deduction on their return. Tips will work the same way
It’s the overtime portion (the 50% increase in pay per hour) that will not be taxable for income taxes. However this amount is likely still part of Wages and AGI, which will work toward phaseouts, even if not directly taxable

In short, by only talking about one aspect it makes it so much easier to us to be lied to. When you are only told about spending in terms of deficit you are being lied to. When you are only told about spending in terms of absolute dollars (leaving out deficit) you are being lied to.
This was a solid post. But I think talking about the deficit in general is misleading. We don’t know what tax revenues will be. This bill is pretty vanilla in that regard, but increased economic activity, coupled with tariff revenue could be a game changer in terms of deficit spending
They really need to make 100% bonus depreciation permanent and make meals 100% deductible. Meals are actually scheduled to be non deductible by 2027. Those things move the needle on transaction volume

How about what should be the #1 priority and the root of our issues,
ABOLISH THE FED, it’s the only way, otherwise. We are ignoring that our financial system is owned by the Int’l Banking Cartel that has enslaved us thru the IRS, USAID, NGO’s etc for over 110 years.
I want my families money back, other than that, and it’s pure political maneuvering.
Of course, it’s better than before, but still allowing the snake to live in your house
