Affirmative Action was way different than DEI. The way that AA worked was this: if 2 candidates were exactly equal in qualifications, give it to the minority and not the white guy. That is the way it was supposed to work.
That was the way it was suppose to work. But it did not work that way.
It covered women as well as minorities. And guess who was not cover. White males. And also guess who paid for those past wrongs........
White male "Boomers".

BS! Affirmative action, original DEI, Was around since the 70s.The boomers paid for it 1st.
It (AA) covered everyone but white males...but including white females.
Lots of minority business enterprises sprang up and made bank.
During the Superfund cleanup days, 1/8th Injun Joe Brown Trucking with the big orange trucks did most of the contaminated hauling for all projects
Houston Crushed Concrete was a woman owned business which made bank with all the concrete roads and buildings and resold for road base across the Houston area.
Black owned businesses dominated the asbestos abatement scene which boomed in the 1980s
A former coworker was still making bank, a decade aga, as a black owned business with government contracts, he subbed out 100% to other companies.
I can give many more examples of how minorities made bank due affirmative action.

I have a boomer uncle that lost a job because of DEI in the 70s

Boomers frick everything up. It’s well known.

Spoiled rotten millennials are entitled to everything.

That is exactly correct.
The old white men sold out for the street cred and the praise, so they implemented DEI while keeping their own plum jobs.

What I've been doing lately is going to large family gatherings where all the Boomer aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents gather. Once everyone settles in for the festivities I start letting them all know they suck, and how everything that's wrong in the world is because of Boomers. I do this as I eat their food and drink their libations.
I know that ^^^ seems kinda harsh but we get along even after I've unloaded on their Boomer asses. At the end of the day we all live and let live and leave on good terms and from what I can ascertain, I'm still in several estate wills.

Secondly, you date range of “65+” includes the 70,71,72,73,74,75,76 etc etc year olds. No one is walking about them.
So when you attempt the ""point"" that the "date range of “65+” includes the 70,71,72,73,74,75,76 etc etc year olds," what in the world is your point?

Because DEI is a scam, like the climate crisis. They just played you, bitch.

Its a pretty factual statement for all boomers. Not just men
They felt guilty for mistreating the blacks when they were young so they jumped on these policies to feel better while destroying opportunities for their kids.
And then lectured us all about it.

Ask the Boomer Bashers what generation was controlling academia when most Boomers were being introduced to leftist propaganda beginning in the late 50's through the early 80's? If Boomers are responsible for all that ails the US then who influenced he Boomers?
Here's the difference between Boomers and Boomer Bashers. The majority of Boomers never attended universities so they never got the level of leftist victimhood indoctrination that is so prevalent in many Americans under age 50.....it's always somebody else's fault.
It doesn't matter if you're a minority, if you're poor, if you're gender confused, if you're a wacko environmentalist, etc.... academia and pop culture has convinced tens of millions of Americans they're all victims. Today, many of these victims have decided it's the Boomer generation that's to blame for their lives being unsatisfactory or why their future is uncertain.

That the OP is correct. Boomers are spineless and have been in charge while the country has fallen into lunacy. Hiring/promoting unqualified DEI to keep their cush jobs is just another feather in their caps.
The generation that bought homes for $40,000 and sold them for $400,000. The last generation to have company pensions. Yet they still self-preserve as an whole and leave nothing for the younger generations behind them.
Not all of course, but just seems like the Hippies grew up into assholes.

Young white male here. We’re well aware of what was done to us by our fathers and grandfathers’ generations.

DEI didn’t happen organically.
It was driven by globalist money interests like Blackrock who took over boardrooms with their massive wealth, inserted activist board members who demanded these initiatives be implemented.
Then to ensure follow through they made executive compensation plans contingent in part on achieving hiring goals.
I watched it happen in real time at a previous stop.
It starts and begins with the WEF/globalist crowd like Larry Fink.

“Boomers” are easy targets. This board loves them some scapegoats…

Bull shite. I was in college in 70s had 2 older sisters in college a couple of years before me. Mother was attending night school college courses in early 70s. Plenty of women in college in the 70s, maybe more women than men during that decade. Affirmative Action was on going and strong in the 70s.
You have your decades confused!
Brave says....
In the 1970s, the gender ratio in U.S. college attendance shifted from a male majority to a female majority, reaching parity around 1980.
Early 1970s: Men still outnumbered women; for instance, in 1970, men held approximately 51.8% of total college enrollment among high school graduates, while women held 48.2%.
Mid-to-Late 1970s: Female enrollment surged, leading to a crossover. By 1976, women slightly outnumbered men (50.3% vs. 47.2% among recent graduates), and this trend solidified throughout the decade.

Firms like BlackRock were simply doing what their customers wanted them to. A large portion of which are public pension funds like teachers pension funds

I'm not sure current generations are going to make it when all of us boomers die off and they're left to their own devices. But for now we'll be the reason and they can find somebody else to blame later.
