Beware when pumping gas.

If you see something, say something.

Everybody around here is aware of this scam. It's apparently happening everywhere at Dot owned stations.

We hand out millions of H1-B visas to Dots.

They figure out ways to scam us.

.... and they put heart valves in upside down.

Wouldn’t that just screw the initial person who used the pump after the card was used? I don’t think it would benefit the gas station at all.

So basically make sure to get a receipt from gas stations. I can't make comments on race because its June and I want to respect the Moderators Pride Month.

Me too, doesn’t the flap determine if the pump runs or not? If it’s down, the pump thinks the nozzle is in place, am I wrong?

LINK https://www.hits973.com/on-air/police-are-warning-drivers-about-gas-pump-scam-that-could-charge-your-card-after-you-leave/

quote:

The scam, known as the “screw scam,” is surprisingly simple. According to police, scammers place a small screw inside the nozzle cradle of a gas pump.

When a customer finishes fueling and returns the nozzle, the screw prevents the pump’s lever from fully closing. As a result, the pump may continue to think the fueling transaction is active even after the customer leaves.

Police say a thief can then pull up to the pump and begin filling their own vehicle while the charges continue to be billed to the previous customer’s credit or debit card.

Correct, but the gas station coordinates to have their buddies lined up for free gas.

Guess the screw keeps the flap from closing and ending your transaction

Who leaves the gas pump before the transaction is complete?

So it’s something like 7-11 mobs taking each other out?

That is a Felony theft. Dude should have taken a pic of the sale price, left, and came back with the law. Then find the charge on his Card and compare it to the pic. Put those low life f’rs away.

Also get a search warrant to check the video of who pulled in right after. Zap them too.

For comment on stupidity of people?

And the news report doesn't seem to indicate the scam is by the owners of the store, FWIW, but I'm sure they're in on the conspiracy.

The scam doesn't really make sense for the owners to do it.
