You can easily thwart the scam by not leaving prior to your transaction ending. Who does that?
You are unwittingly proving everyone’s point. Sure, thieves have always been around, but these types of scams are INGRAINED in illegal immigrant populations. Now we have to change our habits and customs because of this third world mentality foisted upon us. We’re sick of it.

After I am done, the pump asks me if I want a receipt. Even if I say no, the transaction is complete, right.
So, as long as you get that prompt, you can’t be a victim of the scan, correct?
Just make sure the transaction is complete before leaving the pump. It seems like common sense but perhaps not.

how do you explain the presence of a screw in that location?
Possible explanation for screw

The attendants were not angry for no reason.
Sure, we will just pretend the recorder of that video was calm.
Think it through. It would make no sense to put these screws in multiple pumps based on just trying to hook a family member up with free gas.

I'd also be wary of Dot owned stations adding water to the tanks.
Used to be an Exxon in our small town that had a hamburger grill inside, and made the best burgers. Got bought out by Dots and everything went downhill.
We are literally importing these frickers to take over our stores. My biggest beef with Trump by far

When a customer finishes fueling and returns the nozzle, the screw prevents the pump’s lever from fully closing. As a result, the pump may continue to think the fueling transaction is active even after the customer leaves.
So basically it only affects those who are too stupid to make sure the pump cycles through the transaction.

It makes no sense. It truly doesn't. Nothing about the scam makes any sense.

Critical thinking is optional here. You're getting a called a lowlife but morons are far more dangerous.

Even worse, I'm going to be told I'm "defending" something, even though my argument is that the actions don't exist (aka, there is nothing to defend, in my position).
Correct. All emotions, all the time.

What about the not so obvious scams perpetrated by these people, retard? It’s the CULTURE. You live in a fantasy world of rainbows and unicorns, we all know that by now. Unlike you, we don’t like having to look around and seeing who is behind us. You are used to that.

I am 100% for reform of H1B visas.
Emotional-driven NPC slop like works against any chance of real reform, which will take rational discussions about policy changes based in facts
All you're doing by promoting this NPC nonsense is creating the avatar of ignorance those who support no reform/expansion of H1B will use to win the policy debate. You're fricking useful idiots being manipulated due to your emotional state. Do better.

You’d think they would be able to get the same effect without using a screw, which would probably require a screwdriver and some amount of time to remove.
Maybe tape a quarter on it or something like that.

I'm thinking he saw an employee filling up and was curious if pajeet was getting himself a free tank of gas.
Posted on 6/10/26 at 8:52 am to Sam Quint
The video screen wouldn't change even though the handle was put in the slot because the screw kept it from closing out the transaction.
I always look for card skimmers and had seen info on the screw issue several months ago.
I always wait for a receipt.
