What makes this story 10000% believable (aside from seeing the damage / witness marks on pumps)?

As a standard safeguard, our fuel pumps are designed with an automatic shut-off feature that ends a transaction after a period of inactivity."

I caught a BP pump with the screw in it just outside of Atlanta last month a day after seeing something on Twitter about it. They almost got me. I was swiping my card at the pump when I looked over and happened to see it. Immediately canceled the transaction and moved to a different pump. Got lucky. Now I'm paranoid every time I get gas.

They learn english at their phone scam centers in India before they come over with their fake degrees.
Did you know that over 70% of phone/computer/Internet scams are perpetrated by Indian call centers?

You know, on second thought, I don't think I will ... even if they do post a story. This farm is a small rural community. It might put me on an angry Dot's hit list.
They carry these ceremonial knives around, as I'm sure you know, and they like to stabby poke wipipo, and steal gas, and put heart valves in upside down, and scam money from old people, etc., etc., etc., etc. It's an H1-B visa thing.
