Foo, I understand what you are saying, but...

If you were in ancient Egypt and you had to choose who you would follow, would it be Moses or Pharoah? I kind of think we are in a similar situation.

Also, the question could have been asked more succinctly.

100%

Trump supporters here on this board need to get their head out of their arse when it comes to the pope. It’s ok to be Catholic, recognize the pope with the respect he deserves, and still support Trump and Trump’s policies.

The last great Pope was John Paul II.

I take a chance with removing the gun from the gun holders hands.

Moses anticipated push back when he went to the people of Israel saying he was to be the mouthpiece of God to them, and God gave Moses signs to prove his claim to the people. Trump was not sent by God in like manner.

Trump is not a prophet of God. He is merely a sinner who needs to repent of his sins and turn to Christ by faith, trusting in Him for deliverance rather than himself. I hope he does, and I hope he has, but no, I would not follow Trump unquestionably just as I would not follow the Pope.

This really isn’t the dilemma you might have thought.

Lifelong philandering scuzzbag versus a guy who dedicated himself to something bigger than himself?

I guess that depends on what you value.

For what?

If it is to lead the USA, Trump, 100%.

If it's to be the Pope, Leo.

But as to the current fight between them (Iran, immigration, economic policy, co-existence woth Muslims) - Trump 100%.

I follow neither. I follow the words

Values such as sitting in judgment of another, and viciously so, at that? Speaking of the Pope and the teachings and pronouncements which he follows. You should probably recalibrate.

Trump

If you follow him, you'll have a common sense leader.

Leo will invite a terrorist to your home for supper and he'll aloha snackbar each of you to eternity.

My kids went to catholic school for a total of 9 years. I went to church there some, was in the das club for cooking events, hunted and hung out with the priest. Never once did I feel like anything we were doing had anything to do with the pope. Other than the fact that all extra money went to the archdiocese.

So I ask you, wtf do I care, or even your average catholic person here, about a pissing contest between the pedo protector in chief and Donald Trump?

One seems to be somewhat OK with adults having sex with the underaged as long as it is limited to one small island.

The other seems OK with it pretty much anywhere.

So, I’ll go with the former. Reminds me of the old joke about the difference between women and men. Girls need a really good reason to have sex, guys just need a place

Non-answer, but I commend the thoughtful response. Really.
