Lol of course that all depends on who’s asking and their level of nuttiness.

Follow? Neither. Pope is a false title. I support Trump's policies and the way he has led the country, but he is not a spiritual leader by any means.

I cannot imagine a hypothetical scenario where I would find myself in a situation where I would have to choose between one of those two diametrically opposed absolutes.

One on the left, one on the right. One the leader of my religious belief system, one the leader of my political Constitutionally Conservative ideology.

I want to believe that both are opponents of evil.

I have faith in both, most of the time ... but there are times when I have doubts.

Neither am I much of an avowed blind follower of any human being, so to speak ... unless it was my Dad. A fan, sometimes an admirer, but never a blind followerer.

Familiarity breeds contempt ... especially from afar.

So maybe don't participate in the mental exercise if you're not actually going to participate in the mental exercise?

Trump. It's only until his term ends.

Leo is a woke a-hole who is almost as bad as the last pope. They are constantly reimagining the gospel to fit a more politically pro globalism narrative.

Foo, we are looking at the same half-full glass from different perspectives and coming to totally different conclusions.

You look at Trump and see someone who has had no revelation, works no miracles, is faithless, unrepentant, ungodly in character and conduct, does not honor God, and is aligned with the purposes of Pharoah rather than Moses.

For my part, I cannot say that God has not revealed Himself to Donald Trump, I am not privy to his private and personal interactions with God.. I cannot say that he is faithless and does not honor God, I do not know his heart. I do see him stand daily against the radical left who I truly believe is aligned against the purposes of God. I also see him surround himself with Godly advisors who seem to trust him.

On the other hand, I see a deeply flawed man who is proud and arrogant and often acts in ways that are unrefined and not seemingly Godly. I, myself have been guilty of similar behaviour, but I know that God forgives me and loves me.

We have the benefit of the final word on the great men in the Bible through Scripture. We know of their personal struggles with God and the final outcomes of their lives. We do not know the same for Donald Trump. I will reserve judgement and hope and pray that God uses him (willingly or in spite of himself) to the benefit of this nation.

One of the primary reasons why I'm here is to discuss politics and current events through the lens of Christianity. The intent of my response to the hypothetical was to make Christians think about the question from a Christian perspective.

At least Trump is more honest about who and what he is.

I'd probably go with God considering there's a gun to my head.

What a lame thread.

One is an empty robe who pretends to be a man of God and the other is a president of the United States who has many flaws as all men do. I am a follower of Jesus Christ.

You can't follow God without following the Pope?

Voting for a president is not a lifelong covenant. Calm down.

You think voting for LBJ, Carter, Obama, Biden was not a multi generational mistake?

LBJ- Great Society, forever screwed up the family of low income Blacks.
Carter- we are in a war in Iran as a result of his idiocy. In addition his policy ended the building of Nuclear Power generated electricity. Gave away the Panama Canal.
Obama- screwed up Education, Healthcare, as well as funding Iran.
Biden-will we ever recover?

I can remember one Pope that has positively, long term, affected America . Pope John II partnered with President Reagan in defeating the Soviet Union.

It's a false choice presenting only two choices without qualifiers . You are basically asking for a popularity contest. Like who's the shite, man, you know, who's the coolest. Then presenting the results of that choice as something definitive.

Does the result mean that the winner is the definitive authority on ALL matters theological, political and secular? Hey I must be an authority because 65% of all poll respondents said I was.

I'll wait until Trump discerns and breaks down II Chronicles on Tuesday at 6 pm.When this board declares the theological mastery demonstrated by a man who has read II Chronicles for probably the first time that night.

Let’s see.. Trump moved heaven and earth to get one single American back from certain death in Iran.

Leo has abandoned thousands of persecuted Catholics in China and thrown his support to the Communist appointed bishops there.

Trump is a better man than Leo by a mile.
