I’m sure they do blow it up based on a GOP “gotcha.”

I guess my question at this point is whether Matherne’s is normally their supplier for this kind of thing or if they normally use a different distributor (catering company, Mockler Beverege, whatever) instead.

Using the local grocery store about 6 blocks from the Capitol seems more like a “we have to do this on the fly” thing than a regular thing.

This is disturbing. First that they're drinking Veuve Clicquot yellow label Champagne. Second, that they're paying $80 a bottle for it.

Might want to worry more about the HALF BILLION +++ that they are giving away for private schools.
Thought we were a broke state. Guess the RINOs can just go ahead and raise taxes again.

So this looks like it is just accounting for beverages give by probably the alcohol lobbying groups. Probably the Beer Industry League or wine and spirits foundation.

Depending on the legal circumstances, the state may not be able to go out and bargain-shop for fricking liquor.

For all I know they have bidded contracts in place for who gets distribution rights for certain areas.

They aren’t sending an aide out to Costco to get this shite.

They DID got a 10% discount!

And I thought the liquor prices were decent.

But, yeah, even $72 bucks is a bit steep for yellow label Veuve.

Used to be able to give up to 500 in liquor to the reps, senators, and gov. Those are the exact spirits that normally are sent. Have not been in. that world for 20 years.

Sounds about right.

I think the limit is $500 in food or drink PER PERSON INVITED. So if they invited everyone in the Legislature, Senate, and Governor’s Mansion, they can spend X amount on food and booze.

It's always good to see hard hitting investigative journalism return after taking a break for 8 years when a Democrat is in office.

For 1k of champange? Personally I believe he can use some of his $130,000 taxpayer funded salary. I'm sure you'd have the same reaction if this was the records of the Mayor of New Orleans Office

You think he’s the only governor who’s had alcohol at the mansion paid for?

I’m not saying it’s right, but let’s stop acting like he’s the first and only.

Reps? No, they are embarrassingly obsequious.

Senators? 50/50 chance

Now do John Bel Edwards. At least we'll get politics and good policy we like out of Landry.
