What about food; why are we paying for his food? What about electricity, why are we paying for that? That guy better not have cable. You Sir are ridiculous. Would it look better as a Governor if he charged a cover?

You’re equating alcohol with electricity.

And what morons actually are the cause for the need of a turnaround? Hint for the moron voters who voted for the morons creating the problems: Democrats.

Stop voting for morons on both sides, or if they are all morons then man up and run for office yourself . Prove you are not a moron too.

I assume every executive level elected office has some sort of “entertainment budget,” yes. You don’t? Your OP seems to be suggesting or insinuating this is somehow untoward. Show your work and convince me it is and this is something beyond inane drive by nonsense.

I know that wasn't directed at me but, yes. Yes I am OK with it. It's really for his guests, but I am sure he drinks some too.

I have been to multiple events for different administrations. They all served alcohol.

And here is another thing to consider: this might be paid for with taxpayer dollars, but it might not be. That's just a receipt. It doesn't show the source of funding. I think it probably is taxpayer dollars, but it could be from his campaign account.

Honestly, I would prefer taxpayer dollars. Entertaining IS part of the governor's job. We didn't sweat other administrations (and we don't sweat the US president) for paying for booze, so why start here?

The good news, for now, is that we have access to that information. So, each citizen can determine if this is a big deal or not.

Your public school doesn’t have an entertainment budget for teacher events?

No - our taxes are better funneled to "non-profits" that can host for Charter Schools (more non-profits) celebrations at the Ritz for 250+ people. All of the public school children are looked at "per-head" profit margins too.

I have never seen a bar tab like that. Was he drinking at an accounting firm?

It appears to be a business account between the state and one of the nearest grocery / liquor stores, which is Matherne’s on Third Street downtown.

Is this news? Every governor, mayor and president throws parties and the tax payers foot the bill.

Pretty sure one of the only administrations in US history, outside of Prohibition, not to serve alcohol on the public dime was Rutherford B Hayes’ presidency from 1877-1881.

Most others tend to serve booze, typically wine, at state functions.

No, but are trying to say he bought the alcohol to personally get drunk. The man is the Governor, and he can't entertain?
