It's a typical democrat false equivalency to try to compare school shootings to Kirk's death.
First, as a newer father, I have had a huge awakening the last 1.5 years to the perspectives on a child's safety. I still believe strongly in the 2A. We didn't have school shootings when I was a kid and we've had the 2A for 250 years.
That said, when a child is the victim of violence, it ruins the future of one family which is horrible thing. Absolutely terrible. I think school shooters should be drawn and quartered or fed to sharks and alligators.
When a political figure is the victim of violence, it is an attempt by the other party to ruin the future of an entire half of the country. That's millions of families. That's telling millions of children that their future does not have self-determination in addtion to the underlying murder.
Conflating one issue with the other is a non-starter. It's not intellectually weak, it's a total zero.
