Now that there is a conservative majority in the court people are hoping to overturn Roe.

Why can’t we do the same with gay marriage? I don’t know get why so many other “Republicans” just gave up on this issue.

It should be a state issue, like a great deal of issues that the feds overreach on. But this is not a hill to die on nationally. Many more issues should take precedent.

This is the least of America’s concern right now.

And frankly shouldn’t give a shite if a guy wants to marry another guy.

No. Looks at how many gay Republicans there are now that have moved away from the left because of their shitty policies.

And it's two consenting adults. It shouldn't matter to you what they do as long as it's not hurting anyone else.

Only thing gay marriage hurts is those who want to control what others do.

That's a democratic policy.

I don't care if a couple of homos get "married," just as long as any religious institutions are not forced to conduct a ceremony if it is against their dogma, or cake shops are forced to bake a cake if it is against the owner's beliefs.

I don't give a crap what two people do in their own house. I don't like it being shoved down my throat that I have to like it either but that's between them and God, not me.

I may not agree with them , but I defend their right to their belief and the freedom this country used to stand for.

Nah, It’s about cultural norms, just like age of consent laws, bigamy, public nudity and a host of other issues. If gay marriage is about “control” then it’s just one of a long list.

Why does it matter to you what two consenting adults do with their marriage life?

I do not agree with their choices but that’s their choices to make.

That form of government reach I don’t want to see. Why should the government decide what two consulting adults do in marriage.

Who two consenting adults want to marry and spend their life with isn't the business of the government. You can have the opinion that it's wrong and maybe there is validity to it but this issue simply shouldn't be in the realm of government control in a free society.

Enforcing the "it's wrong" view on people has won us no allies we didn't already have. Simply put, it's a stupid hill to die on.

The lifeblood of government overreach is tax money.

Cut taxes.

Cut departments.

Education should not be run from Washington.
Housing and urban development should not be run from Washington.

Defense, Treasury, and State are the only necessary departments.

Maybe Transportation and Interior, but we need less bureaucracy, not more.

Slash the bureaucracy.

I disagree. If we want God to bless this country, we can't turn our backs on issues that betray the Biblical values this country was founded on. It's the fact that this country has allowed these things to happen, and just shrugged it's shoulders and said "eh, not my problem" for so long about so many important moral issues, that we find ourselves in the position we're currently in: Trying to win back our country from utter insanity and depravity.

What are they doing that pisses you off so much? Cats out of the bag and it turns out it really didn't matter all that much.

What the feds should really do is put in hard rules about marriage being between two and not more than two, consenting adults of legal age. There will definitely be another round of people that try and capitalize on the country moving into more of a nondiscriminatory direction in order to normalize and legalize (or at least decriminalize) marriage of relations that have previously been illegal acts, bestialities, pedo, group marriage/polygamy, etc.

Until it is compulsory I generally favor it. Gay people should have the right to be as miserable as straight people.

Marriage was a contract founded on having children, nothing less and nothing more.

Gay marriage was an attack on that. And it shows how much we’ve declined, and how rapidly it’s happening.

The theatre and sacred language that surrounds marriage was purposeful.

Marriage is difficult, but essential to the survival of society. Without it, we won’t be able to pass on our culture to the next generation.

By making it a sacred thing, and an obligation in many ways, we were training people to take it seriously. Hence the language about for better or for worse. Your duty to your children, and to society, was paramount.

You live under a rock if you think the supreme court should overturn gay marriage.

It’s revealing how many conservatives don’t mind SCOTUS activism as long as they agree with the outcome.

Marriage is a religious institution.

If the government wants to recognize civil unions, who cares. Does not hurt anyone if gays can be legally united.
