Apparently there is panic amongst the city leaders - they don't know what to do.
Drag them out of the fricking building and take control of the situation yourselves. True leaders rise to the occasion.

I've spent days in Asheville and barely run into a single black person, yet they are 40% of the city administration/council?
That's immediately what struck me when I saw the mayor/council, along with zero men. Then I looked at the county government... 3 female / 1 male, two of four black.
Therefore 5 of 11 city/county leaders (46%) are black. All but one are women.
Asheville is 4% black, Buncombe County is 6% black.
Being a visitor to the Blue Ridge area for years I'd heard the city had been taken over by the hipsters 20 years ago, now the DEI crowd.
***EDIT to add the mayor was born in Denmark, WTH???*** Sounds like she was groomed to flip the city

Number one reason I want to feel sorry for Asheville but can't.
No real men, no real decision makers, no real Americans leading the city or voting for local politicians.
Elections have consequences!

Our mayor and city council is not prepared for this. Years of being concerned about LGBT crap and transgender bathrooms isn't going to help them. Apparently there is panic amongst the city leaders - they don't know what to do.
Damn. As if there were a political side that focused on core things instead of delusions.
God bless them and hope all that are hurt find a way to fight thru it, and learn.
BTW...let them know to look into what Glen Becks mercuryone.org is doing to help. They are putting things together and have chartered a couple helicopters to help bring stuff in. If your friends are save and good to help, that would be something to do.

It's like DEI turned on its ear.
Here are some demographics for Asheville, North Carolina:
Ethnicity
84.22% of the population is white (non-Hispanic), 4.50% is Black (non-Hispanic), 1.30% is Asian (non-Hispanic), 0.15% is American Indian (non-Hispanic), 0.08% is Pacific Islander (non-Hispanic), 0.14% is other (non-Hispanic), 2.06% is multirace (non-Hispanic), and 7.55% is Hispanic.
They are over-represented by 10X like most of our local, state and federal governments and, recently, most large corporations.

This is the illusion of Progressivism. Its essentially a woman- led national suicide movement. it’s just the current religion of feminized self conceit, it has no relationship to anything other than making white women THINK that their BOUTIQUE ISSUES are existential and that the actual existential issues are irrelevant. It has been specifically designed to appeal to women who are innately susceptible to it and it has won. It has absolute cultural primacy. And now they need strong, masculine, unapologetic , results- oriented leadership and they are all scratching their heads as to how their good intentions and focus on building bike paths for the GLBTQ didn’t save them from reality.
Men, specifically masculine men HAVE to take the culture back. At this point, it’s not an option, it’s a requirement for national survival.

We are far away from Asheville but all I ever hear is how great it is. Sounds like somebody has been spinning a false narrative.

saw Mayor Esther on Fox News, she looked like Kathleen Blanco after Katrina...
My question for the governors of Georgia and North Carolina, why aren't you calling out the National Guard and implementing the interstate compact to bring in Engineer units in Title 32 (National Guard-that gives them law and order authority as well) status...
Then why aren't the phones burning to the White House and FEMA to call out the Army from Ft Moore and Liberty (formerly known as Bragg) and then get the Marines moving with their LCTs...those worked really will in NOLA after Katrina...

I am in Asheville often on business, and it is a very pretty area...however, they are the East Coast version of the Left Coast. It is disgusting. That said, this is going to hurt my business for sure as I have several accounts there.

Don’t worry, democrats are rejoicing because only republicans live there.

Tell your ashville friend that FEMA will be there as soon as they accomplish their first 2 goals...readiness to help is goal # 3.
quote:
Three Bold, Ambitious Goals
The goals and objectives laid out in the Plan will help ensure success for our agency, emergency management community, and those we serve.
Goal 1: Instill equity as a foundation of emergency management
Goal 2: Lead whole of community in climate resilience
Goal 3: Promote and sustain a ready FEMA and prepared nation

From her Wiki page
After graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Manheimer returned to Asheville, North Carolina in 2002. She was elected to the Asheville City Council in 2009 and served until 2013. She was elected mayor of Asheville in 2013.
In March 2016, Manheimer spoke out against the controversial Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, state legislation that eliminated anti-discrimination protections for the LGBT community.
In June 2021, Manheimer was one of 11 U.S. mayors to form Mayors Organized for Reparations and Equity (MORE), a coalition of municipal leaders dedicated to starting pilot reparations programs in their cities.[8] (Earlier, in July 2020, the Asheville City Council had "voted to approve reparations in the form of investments in areas of disparity for Black residents."

My daughter, who checks the Asian box, spent the summer there and it was the first time being around that many honky cracka snowflake vanilla wafer peeps. It was cool because she learned to make meatloaf and knows how to polka now.
