In reality, we DO NOT watn them to be part of the US. The majority are weak-minded socialist weaklings, thus occupation would be easy.

I think you buy into the mythos of conservative == tough when most conservatives in this country are suburban steves who own weapons they cannot effectively maintain or operate and a big work truck that has never been off pavement.
You'll be surprised what people can do when they feel like they're under existential crisis. The fact that most of their population is in cities is a problem not a benefit for occupation unless the US government plans on nuking every major city in Canada.
