Lol. The Pope has absolutely broken this board.
Religious figure, my arse.

We prayed for peace.
We prayed for our military members, that they will be free of physical and moral evil.
We prayed for an end to the divisions that affect our country.
Like we do every week.
The sermon was about how Jesus reveals himself to us in our lives even though we often don't want to see him. Nothing about Trump and the Pope.

We prayed for church leaders and political leaders in general, as is customary. Nothing about Trump or even the US specifically, and of course nothing about the contrived drama.

My priest is a huge liberal. I won’t leave the church over it but I won’t sit under him or go to confession with him. He literally had to apologize for criticizing the president on Facebook. It was a nasty mess in our parish. This happened a couple of months ago.

No , but he did pray for out Troops, while also praying for peace in Ukraine and Iran.

The Catholic Church by and large is not some Evangelical warehouse with politics spewing from the pulpit wrapped in religious garb.
My priest spoke about the Road to Emmaus as well and said that the greatest blessing is to NOT to have an easy life.

Not at all. The Mass I went to had the deacon say the homily (I don’t agree with that practice) but I’ll give the deacon credit it was an on point and moving homily. It also had exactly zero politics in it.

Friday mass addressed, it, Sunday did not. The pope will always err on the side of Peace. Always. We don't have to agree. The end.

He then went on to remind us Catholic Social Doctrine is always focused towards the dignity of the human person and the terrible toll war inflicts on people. I saw nothing in his statement that could be interpreted as anti-Trump rhetoric.
I look at what is not said, and then what is said and when it is said.
The Pope was silent when Israelis were slaughtered and held by Hamas. The Pope was silent when Iran was executing protesters. The Pope is silent on the governments that cause their citizens to flee their home countries.
But the Pope has not been silent when Trump uses the force of the US military to protect those who are not being provided the dignity of the human person.

No, ours focused on how receiving the Eucharist is a commonality across all stages of life. He related it to our children seeing first communion this upcoming weekend, and contrasted it with an older parishioner in his 90s who he jokingly said his probably received 1,000, 000.
It was a nice message actually.

I went to an ACTs retreat this weekend. Never was he mentioned in a general conversation context. Of course, during certain little prayers, he has to be mentioned other than that the Pope, nor the president was ever mentioned. I don’t necessarily worry about what’s going on in Rome, although I don’t agree with the pope at this moment.

No clue, my 2 y/o went absolutely apeshit 9completely out of character) because the donut holes at breakfast weren't enough and we did not bring more donut holes to church. So, I spent most of mass in the vestibule and outside

The opinion of a sheltered human, who has very limited life experience, carries less weight with me than a stay at home mom from the Country Club of Louisiana.

Nope. He covered spreading the gospel and that it’s our duty to be a missionary to spread the gift that was given to us.
It was the exact homily I needed to hear…

Francis absolutely condemned the attacks of October 7, He condemned the violence and called for a ceasefire.
His language was just as straightforward as Leo's in the current. The only difference was that he didn't mention Trump directly or indirectly because Trump was not in power.
John Paul was against the Iraq War in 2003.
Pope has a responsibility in that regard in that he takes the local Christian communities into consideration when speaking out. There are hundreds of thousands ofChristians in Iran, most consisting of Armenian Catholics and Assyrian Catholics mostly in Tabriz and Tehran.
