It would be extraordinarily difficult to prosecute. The jurisdictional nexus alone would be extraordinarily difficult to overcome. Then you have causation.

Yes, the goal now should be to make him run up a two million dollar legal bill.

There’s no statute of limitations on murder.

They'll never be able to prove that. As much as I'd like to see him go down, it's foolish to get your hopes up for that. There's way too many protections granted to federal officials acting in "good faith."

Yes, it's gross, but he has qualified immunity. It's like trying to get a cop on murder charges. It's extremely difficult. Can it be done? Sure. They'd need a smoking gun that more or less pins not only gain of function but that he specifically intended for the virus to be released to the public.

Given the pardon, the 5th shouldn't be available to him, no?

Fauci is scum for sure but make no mistake, congress enabled this freak and enabled the gain of function program he hid from the public.

Fauci is scum but he is a scape goat to take the heat off congress.

It's getting pretty late in Trump's term to have referrals made from Congress and then getting the work done to bring charges. In addition to that, no jury in DC will convict a democrat hero.

It would appear that even if the Feds/States wanted to prosecute him they simply waited too long. The statute of limitations will expire or has expired on the crimes he committed.

didnt NYC extend the statue of limitations on Trumps court trial items claiming a "COVID delay"

AI search:

quote:

Yes, the time limit to file charges was effectively extended or paused, involving pandemic-era executive orders and felony classifications.

Felony Status: Falsifying business records is normally a misdemeanor with a two-year limit, but it became a five-year felony in Trump's case because it was done to conceal another crime.

COVID-19 Tolling: Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued executive orders that paused or "tolled" criminal statutes of limitations during the 2020 pandemic disruptions.

Judge's Ruling: The trial judge upheld the validity of the pandemic-era extensions and the timing of the indictment

so if blue states can game the system why cant red states do the same.....

I think this is the real reason nothing will happen. The buck doesn't stop with Fauci. There are a lot of people that need to go down for Covid-19, but no one in government wants to start that chain reaction.

Taking Rand Paul at face value, the DOJ will be conducting an investigation into Fauci's taking the Fifth. Paul said that Fauci very much does face criminal exposure.

I don’t know how someone can be pardoned before any crimes have been specified snd charged.

There may be a loophole there. I believe what Biden did is unprecedented with blanket immunity. Someone keep me honest here.

RFK jr was on tv just the other day saying that this hearing was an opportunity to get Fauci to perjure himself. Why in gods name would Fauci give them the opportunity.

Let’s not forget that Donald “Anyone who pleads the Fifth is guilty” Trump invoked the Fifth 400+ times on August 10, 2022.

This hearing is an opportunity for a Rand Paul to grandstand and smear Dr. Fauci. Nothing more.

What???

Fauci's OWN WORDS showed he was misleading and lying to the American public while people's lives and livelihoods were being destroyed. His OWN WORDS. All the while he was reveling in his newfound fame and giddy about meeting celebrities while he was telling others to not do just that.

And you are STILL a defender and believer.

The fact that this fricking worm will never be held accountable for his actions is one of the biggest travesties in modern US history.

Anyone called to testify in any court should plead the 5th. If you don't, you are a dumbass.

You are probably right, but is there any way to know if this was an auto pen pardon?

Yes. He may be, but his minions and cohorts aren't. Peter Daszak and othets at EcoHealth didn't get an autopardon.
