I don’t think “I don’t want to perjure myself” is grounds for taking the 5th.
Nobody can be compelled to incriminate oneself. But if prosecution is off the table, I don’t think the 5th applies. At least sometimes it doesn’t.

This hearing was a set up to test his pardon and his pleading the 5th later in the courts.
