The AGs of red states, using the evidence they have now, should file criminal charges against him. Immediately.
His pardon doesn’t cover state charges.

Taking Rand Paul at face value, the DOJ will be conducting an investigation into Fauci's taking the Fifth. Paul said that Fauci very much does face criminal exposure.

Sounds great. But we all know nothing will happen. Is there a legal expert here that can speak on if he can be charged with a specific crime that occurred in their state as a direct result of Fauci's actions?

It seemed like Rand was goading him into pleading the 5th when he was posting yesterday about perjury today would not be protected by the pardon. Political theater.

It would be extraordinarily difficult to prosecute. The jurisdictional nexus alone would be extraordinarily difficult to overcome. Then you have causation.

I agree. He should be charged with murder at the state level based on all we know now. That would be a big bridge to cross because there are likely more folks like him that are just as culpable. He just needs to be charged so we can at least bankrupt that MFer! He deserves a jail cell in the worst condition but he will never see a jail cell. His punishment will be when he leaves this earth!

It would appear that even if the Feds/States wanted to prosecute him they simply waited too long. The statute of limitations will expire or has expired on the crimes he committed.
Not to get conspiratorial, but this all just seems like a show designed to give the impression that the Senate is, "doing something."

He lied directly to DeSantis in writing.
What charges could come of that in FL as a result of that is unclear.
Businesses were ruined, freedoms violated, people were put in jail for violating shutdown orders, etc all of which was downstream of that.
In an election year if there’s an opportunity to charge him it’ll happen, but we’re also 5 years out so the statute of limitations might be at play.
