Exactly. NOBODY would have put up any resistance against the bump stocks.

Such a phony boogeyman

Look at the top of the money giving donors. The "gun lobby" isnt even close

The reason boils down to this. People will vote against gun control.

Votes run any party

This gets the Dems on record AGAIN, hawking ANOTHER idiotic Policy which is electoral suicide in all but the hard Blue States. It's like supporting Antifa/BLM or an open Border and thinking it's a winner.

Democrats everywhere, proudly dancing on the graves of the dead for political gain. Laws only apply to the law-abiding, folks. The right to drive a deadly vehicle is found nowhere in the Constitution, but are Democrats up in arms for common sense vehicle control? Nope. Don't even have to speak English, even though all the road signs are written in it.

Most people are ok with citizens owning semi-automatic weapons, even ARs.
This is soooo stupid on so many levels.

What separates ARs from other semi-autos?

A company can make simple changes, name it something else and we will be right back where we started .... oh, wait, I already have one in my possession. It is nothing like an AR and may be more deadly in situations like Tx.

Nothing

I wish we could go back in time and have them name it literally anything else

Every mentally ill liberal believes that AR means assault rifle and Im not kidding when I tell you that if a ban is ever passed the reason will be solely because of its designation from that company

The only way to legitimately ban firearms is to repeal the 2nd amendment.

There is already a well developed effort to convene a Constitutional convention. Why don't the Dems jump on board and put 2A repeal officially on the table?

That would be a completely honest, transparent, simple and constitutionally legal way to handle it.

It's politics. The reality is most Dems won't touch gun control. They didn't pass it when they had Obama and a super majority.

This is smoke and mirrors so the GOP can oppose it for their voters and Dems can claim they "tried"

Good. Bump stocks should not have been banned anyway.

As a registered Dem. I think that the NRA is paying both sides. It makes it seem as neither side will compromise.
I thought Trump was passing a bill to get lobbyists out of politics

Honestly I don't think the description here is accurate

I think it's probably more accurate to say in this case that what the Democrats did was put enough poison pills in to ensure nothing passed.

Now they can run saying Republicans refused to do anything after the Vegas attack.

Have they taken the win as you put it the Republicans would have said hey we addressed the specific problem that happened in Vegas

Sure that wouldn't appease the gun control nuts but those people aren't going to vote for Republicans anyways

The Democrats want to be able to go after those that were all good with it least something small happening.

In other words the Democrats want the ability to lie next year

The problem is guns don’t kill people, people kill people. It doesn’t matter if someone uses a gun, knife, fire, or a truck. If some commits mass murder the weapon of choice does not matter.

To solve this problem we need to find the root cause of the problem. Guns are not a cause.

Excluding terrorist these mass shooting all involve a mentally ill person. And mental illness isn’t increasing. Why? Once we can answer that question maybe we can prevent these incidents.

What about commercial airliners? Why are these things still fricking flying?

Oh? Because people use them to fly around the world for business, pleasure, commerce?

frick that - tell that to the families of 9/11.

So it was pretty hard to justify a device like the bump stocks.
what part of "shall not be infringed" do you retards not comprehend? If you ban anything about a gun, you've INFRINGED. Just come out and blatantly state you don't want to abide by the Constitution.

The GOP should put together a bump stock ban bill and undercut these dumbasses.

I can see the Democrat TV campaign ads now: "Republicans want to take away your guns starting with bump stocks."

I guarantee you this would happen.
