Example of why nothing ever gets done in Congress - Gun Control

So after the Vegas shooting most people turned back to the gun control debate and the "Bump Stock" was the main target.
Most people are ok with citizens owning semi-automatic weapons, even ARs. But the majority of people draw the lines at fully-automatic weapons without HEAVY regulations like we have now on them.
So it was pretty hard to justify a device like the bump stocks. Democrats obviously called for the ban of them. Republicans really didn't put up a fight since its hard to justify them if full autos are regulated. EVEN THE NRA SAID MAYBE WE SHOULD REVIEW THEM ON IF THEY SHOULD BE LEGAL!
That's it. There's is your win Democrats. You get to pass SOME type of gun law. All the Dems backed it, and the Repubs and NRA wasn't going to fight you on it. All you had to do was write a simple, clean bill, that called out the bump stocks, and that they couldn't be sold anymore.
But what do they do? They introduce an entire AR ban just like we had in the 90s. Ban over 200 guns, no more than 10 round mags, and they throw bump stocks in all of that.

I'm a huge 2A supporter so it doesn't really hurt my feelings that they aren't getting this passed. Just showing an example of why nothing ever gets accomplished.

the best part is that it would grandfather in every single AR and AK and every magazine etc. in existence as legal LMAO, there are probably 100 million+ "assault rifles" in circulation already.
