Ever wonder why GHW Bush never had a movie made of his WWII heroics?

Kind of tongue in cheek because I already know, but after watching PT109 tonight I started looking up tidbits about JFK’s actual service record compared to the Hollywood account, remarking to myself how unbelievably embellished it seemed as I watched the movie, and I wasn’t wrong. I don’t know why I never put this together before as many time I’d seen the movie, but Hollywood released that movie in June of 63, some 5 months before he was killed, which kind of took me aback that they would make a heroic movie like that of a sitting president, which seems a bit much to me, but whatever. He was their boy.
In any case, it got me to looking into GHW Bush’s service to re-familiarize myself with it, as it’s been a while, and it sure seems like it would make for a really good Hollywood movie, if only he was a Democrat of course.
Shot down twice, recipient of 3 medals, one of which was the distinguished flying cross for dive bombing a Japanese communications outpost after already being hit and eventually bailing out, almost captured by the Japanese, and finally rescued by a submarine where he spent the next 30 days at see working as a spotter, as well as being the recipient of depth charges, and bombs during that time on the submarine. He flew some 58 attack missions and at the time he received his wings, was the youngest pilot in the navy.
Sounds like an even better flick without the need for embellishment. It stands on its own in my estimation. What say you? Would that be a movie you’s pay to see?

Gonna include the part where he has JFK's brain splattered too?

Can you imagine what Hollywood would do to this storyline nowadays? They’d make him out to be a purple haired tranny cross dressing pilot who is anti gun. And thats just for starters. The acting crew would be worse.

Nah, I’d save that for the LBJ movie and conclude with the whole fabricated Gulf of Tonkin incident.

If you believe these people's war records you're a fool.
Go down the rabbit hole of John McCain's war records as presented by the MSM vs. what's real. There's a reason Trump was throwing shade on his time as a P.O.W.

LBJ got a silver star for taking a ride on a B-26. The actual flight crew received no medals. None. LBJ was FDR's top political organizer in Texas, and he wanted to make him a "war hero" to boost his political power in the Lone Star State. And so that was that.

The book Flyboys amply talks about him.

He sledgehammer, it's been 15-20 yrs since I read that book. I don't remember much about Bush in the book. I do remember it being mentioned he was shot down and almost captured.
Those japanese on these islands were viscous and evil. The japanese were a cruel cruel bunch to prisoners. Eating livers of the prisoners to get their spirit power and weird crap like that. They were brutal. Almost as bad as ISIS.

In a way, there is a film about Bush’s WWII exploits. This short video on YouTubeshows the future President getting pulled from the water by the crew of the USS Finback.
What are the odds?

I’d take a Democrat JFK style politician of 1962 over a RINO of today. It’s not saying much the useless RINO’s I know

That's why many of us waited patiently by the train tracks near my neighborhood as the train carrying his remains passed. We had a couple of old WWII Veterans in the crowd. It was touching to see them come to attention and salute. I caught a glimpse of his casket with the honor guard. I took pictures. The same scene was repeated over and over along that route.
IMO, as a President, he was okay, not great, but okay. If only he hadn't taken that "read my lips, no new taxes" bait. The democrats turned around and used that against him when he ran for reelection. You jump in bed with a poisonous snake, and eventually he'll bite you. This is NOT my father's democrat party, for sure.
So many gave so much, many gave all. Only to see Joe Biden and his radical leftist destroy all that progress. Especially in the area of race relations.
Let's Go Brandon!!

GHWB was too much of a snake to have done 10% of that, especially with his family connections at that time. He likely had others killed to save his own snake skin.

He got the first Gulf War right. Liberated Kuwait and got the frick out. Left it to his son and various cohorts though to turn it into the war it never should've been.

Fun fact:
Jim Morrison’s father was the Admiral for the GoT event.
From Wikipedia:
George Stephen Morrison (January 7, 1919 – November 17, 2008) was a United States Navy rear admiral (upper half) and naval aviator. Morrison was commander of United States naval forces during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked an escalation of American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was the father of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the rock band The Doors, who died on July 3, 1971.

While John Kerry is still alive he needs to produce a movie based on his heroic exploits in the Vietnam War.
