Yes Russian special forces and "retired" special ops people have been assisting the rebels in Eastern Ukraine since NATO (USA's Victoria Nuland) decided to build up and promote "Ukrainian nationalism."

If it's true, then the Russians won't kill them or torture them. They'll parade them in front of international cameras. That's PR manna from heaven. For one thing, it'll enrage Russians and renew support for the war effort. And then this would give Trump more ammunition in his fight against European leaders.

No that’s not accurate. Over 90% of Eastern Ukraine are Russian speaking people who are mostly loyal to Russia. They feel more “Russian” than Ukrainian.
Everything was fine until around 2010 moving forward when Russian people living in Eastern Ukraine became enemies in their own country. Russian language was banned by city leaders in various towns and villages. Russians were harassed and referred to has “Moskovites.” People were beaten or murdered by roving bands of Ukrainian “nationalists” inspired by far right leader Stepan Bandera.

They knew what they were getting into, it's war. That being said, I would like to see Americans and Poles taken prisoner rather then being killed.
