The “real” MAGA message? There is no “real” message, it’s all one giant conspiracy theory.

Trump saw how well it played with the birther movement. It’s just the next step in the Lee Atwater playbook.

quote:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “N——, n——, n——.” By 1968 you can’t say “n——”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N——, n——”

“Make America Great Again” is just the next abstract. It’s the reaping of years of sewing Wal Mart Republicanism.

yes.

anyone still pushing a plan to trust that Trump is the real President.

yes, our govt is corrupt.---- yes, I am sure they advocated for Trump voters to be punished... but the added on current NC stories of Bubba in a helo being at war and stopped from helping, is another J6 distraction.

when Biden calls it out as nutty it is a set-up.

The conspiracy theories are the MAGA message. There’s nothing more there to grasp onto.

i remember when saying President Biden was physically and mentally incapable of being President was a conspiracy.

Don't think the op meant any of these kind of "consipracies". Its the "gov is controlling the weather and making storms go to red areas to supress the vote" kind or " Biden is dead and its an imposter wearing a Biden Mask" conspiracies

There has been some real doosies on this very board.

The Election 2020 board is still one of the absolute batshit craziest things I ever read, on this site or anywhere else. I can’t believe some of those loons still show up here. You’d think they’d be embarrassed

Weather they turn out to be true, partially true or completely false do you think the constant drum beat and distraction of all the wild theories to be crowding out the central message of the campaign?

The only ones talking about conspiracy theories is the left and media. And yes, they love talking about it so they can use it against Republicans. But don’t worry, when they are eventually proven correct, the left/media will suddenly go radio silent about them…

I'm asking if latching onto to every fleeting thought is a good strategy instead of hammering the same points of weakness in your oponent.

The premise of your question is false.

For one, the public has ADD. There's a reason the 24 hours news cycle exists. This is also the internet. People talk about anything and everything. There are millions of people online and you expect them all to only talk about topics you think should be discussed? It's absurd to even think about.

And two, who is discussing these "conspiracy theories?" Is it the campaign? Trump and Vance? How about the big commentators? Shapiro and the DW? The blaze? Crowder? Or is it mainly randos on the internet and people already known for CTs?

Thirdly, you're acting as if all conspiracy theories are the same. There's a huge difference between thinking the government is intentionally creating hurricanes and thinking they are slow walking relief. You're treating people who correctly believed that Gulf of Tonkin was a false flag the same as people who think the earth is flat.

Labeling every non-widely accepted idea as a conspiracy theory is done to suppress thought and speech. As conservatives, we should be against such things.

How many of the conspiracy theories have to become reality for the masses to pull their heads out their arse?

maybe not.

but when the “conspiracy theories” i referenced were initially suggested here or elsewhere they were considered equally as ridiculous as the ones you are suggesting, were they not?

I think they are a distraction and make people look foolish for spreading them and others for believing them.

At the rate democrats are imploding, Trump could come out and say hurricanes are being engineered by Bill Gates to dump MRNA vax on southerners via rainfall and still not lose a vote.

I mean they are.
