One of America's biggest gun retailers, Dick's Sporting Goods, is exploring whether to end the sales of its hunting weapons in the wake of recent mass shootings.

It has been testing what it would be like to pull out entirely from the so-called 'hunt' business, and the company is expected to announce the results on Thursday.

Last Autumn, the company stopped selling its hunting gear in 10 stores to test the waters, and has since pulled its hunting business from a further 125 stores nationwide.

Currently there are more than 720 Dick's stores around the country.

If it loses value for shareholders than the board needs to pay.

So are they going to get rid of their Field and Stream stores as well?

I do not see Dick's as a continuing viable business model given the online shopping market. They are overpriced and limited in selection IMHO with a heavy retail lease footprint to carry every month.

Might have to change the name to just "Stream"

That would be awkward

At least that’s the lie they will pay consultants to substantiate to pass onto their board

Never bought anything from there, never even set foot in one.

No plans on changing any of that.

Dick's is really nothing more than a clothing/shoe store.

However Dick's also owns Field & Stream stores. Would they be stupid enough to pull hunting rifles from those. Their Board cannot be that shortsighted ...and......stupid.

the probably chose 10 stores where hunting is almost nonexistent.

Good. It's embarrassing to walk through the "Outdoors" section in Central MS and see Elk bugles and trout lures.

Sumbitches couldn't scratch their own arse with a handful of treble hooks.
