DeSantis would prefer ZERO Chinese students

Governor Ron DeSantis views Chinese students, particularly those engaged in graduate research, as a major national security risk and potential vector for Chinese Communist Party (CCP) espionage. His administration has actively implemented stringent policies to restrict their presence, hiring, and influence in Florida's educational institutions.
He signed a 2023 law (SB 846) prohibiting public universities in Florida from partnering with entities in China and six other "countries of concern". This effectively blocks faculty from hiring Chinese graduate students and postdocs as research assistants, a move that is currently facing legal challenges in federal court.
K-12 School Choice Restrictions: DeSantis directed the Florida Department of Education to pull state scholarship funding from private schools suspected of having direct ties to the CCP, citing threats to student welfare and indoctrination concerns.
H-1B Visa Crackdowns: He directed the Florida Board of Governors to halt the use of H-1B visas at state universities, following audits that claimed Chinese individuals were brought in to discuss public policy with students.
At the national level, DeSantis has explicitly opposed proposals to expand the number of Chinese students studying in the U.S., stating he would "rather have none" because of the perceived risks of intellectual property theft and espionage.

Absolutely. The Chinese Government controls every aspect of these peoples lives. They're either Soldiers or Intelligence Officers masquerading as students or faculty, or they're Students whose families in China are beholden to the Communists, and face the wrath of the Government if not towing the line.

Kemp and Abbott have been good about many elements of DEI/combatting progressivism, but they've both prioritized growth regardless of what it does to natives/American culture. Unfortunately, Trump is trending this way too.
DeSantis is out front on this and has been for a while. "We want Florida to grow and become wealthier, but not at any cost" basically.

He has, in my opinion, been a bellwether for what is best about America

Because Ron actually is America First. Doesn’t just use it a tag line.

Jon Ham is back as the red power ranger.
Now we know DeSantis is running.

But he comes off awkward in our TickTock/Idiocracy world…so no way he could ever be President. If you can’t own the libs on tweeter, you’re unqualified to be a good President.

I just saw Fishback say he would raise foreign tuition to 1 million.
That’s winning right there don’t allow them in

American Idol voter.
Ron crushes the libs, media, and Newsom more coherently than anyone.

You’d be okay with Miriam bankrolling him?

Ron’s only real current flaw is his defense of Israel so hard that he made criticizing them illegal.
His big mistake other than that was the challenge to Trump. He should have waited until this coming cycle to make the run for president.
Ron has been a great governor and made Florida from purple to red. No one is perfect but he isn’t terribly far from it as a candidate. He can hit could short quips which is key and has good policy other than 1 issue

DeSantis is the best governor in America. He's right about educating the Chicoms. Look at the top STEM schools in the US and you'll see an unsettling number of Chinese nationals. Then they take that education and use it to compete against us. Meanwhile, thats fewer US nationals who receive that education.

It's much simpler on the State level than the foreign police/global level. Not to mention, Ron doesn't have his own party fighting him in his State Congress.

Ron may or may not be electable or a great President, I'm not shilling for him right now on POTUS ambitions
But I do think he's been ahead of the curve on a lot. Trump, to his major credit, has been way ahead on a lot of populist themes, but Ron has been the tip of the spear on converting those themes/grievances into conservative positions/movement.
I do think Vance is probably closer to DeSantis on this stuff than Trump/Abbott/Kemp
