Well, this is a good way for Ron to have a legit reason (un-electability) not to win the Nomination or piss of the Conservative Base. Trump can finesse this (wink and nod) to the Base but Ron can't, as it's his 'baby'.

Sure, but I don't think they'll be any more successful at painting him as the devil than they were with GWB or Reagan. They'll always do their best to peel off voters, but a candidate can make their job hard or easy.

So now Trump is a politician who double speaks to pander to voters who deeply care about an issue with no intentions to really help.

Trump could quite plausibly say he is going to leave up to the states and let our “beautiful federal system” do its job. Trump has an advantage here over any sitting governor who will is likely to be under pressure to sign or veto specific abortion legislation.

I am a huge Vivek fan but it's pretty obvious he is trying to be his running mate. I talked to someone who knows him well this past week and he was absolutely hinting that they are working together.

I just find it somewhat humorous that Trump is too pro-life and it's "killing Republicans at the ballot box," but then he isn't pro-life enough because he accepts electoral realities. I have yet to hear about a more pro-life President than Trump since Roe v. Wade came about.

That was certainly the reality in 2018, when women angry over Kavanaugh and the radical antichoice posturing of the Trump Admin escorted Pelosi into the speaker's chair, by a 43 seat Democratic flip.
