Death Penalty: Yeah or Nay?
Posted by Lutcher Lad

Just read about a young murderer in Ascension Parish who pled guilty of killing his parents and 3 others, so he could avoid the death penalty. Apparently, he settled for a life sentence instead of the dreaded death penalty.
I must say, I didn't even know we still had the death penalty in Louisiana. Can't remember the last criminal put to death for murder.
Just curious to see if I'm a sick bastard for wanting the death penalty in action again or if others agree with me.
Are you for the death penalty? Yes or No.

I definitely am in favor of the death penalty, just wish they wouldn’t take so long to carry out the sentence. Why the frick does it take 20 years to go through all the appeals…..

This is a serious topic.
You need to rein in the humor.

I’m for the death penalty. I also believe if it was me, I would want the death penalty.
Being locked up for 40 years sounds horrible

I’m not for it….came to that conclusion after pondering abortion, which I’m also against. I just don’t think we should have the ability to end a life unless it’s in the act of defense. Once they are in prison they should not be a threat to others. I do however think we should force prisoners to work. If they refuse then they don’t get fed, but they should not be killed.

In a lot cases I am in fact for the death penalty.
What I struggle with is the idea of leaving someone in prison for 25-life without the possibility of parole to where the intent is to essentially have them die of old age in prison. That just shows how corrupt and how much of a business our prison system is. If someone is not given the death penalty, then the idea is that they could possibly be rehabilitated after years/decades, otherwise why not give them the death penalty. What purpose does it serve to keep a prisoner alive for the sole purpose of being a prisoner until the end of their days? It does not give justice to the victim's family, and it spends a lot of taxpayer money. Only "positive" is that we get to feel like we are better human beings for not have ordered someone to die, but frick all that if it was a truly heinous and brutal or premeditated crime

I am down for it if there is 100% zero doubt that they committed the crime. Mostly to just have them not using up space and costing tax $$ to keep them alive. I dont think it is a great deterrent however.

It's not a great deterrent right now...because you don't see murderers getting put to death! I guarantee if the public would see murderers being executed one after another, week after week...the killings would decrease big time!

If you are 100%, without a doubt guilty of a capital offense, you should get the brick treatment with the quickness.

Yes indeed.
Here in TX, we still actively introduce perps to their maker.
Ftr, if they went full Hammurabi and let the public fully witness consequences, you bet your arse some lives would saved. Fear is a helluva motivator.

Yeah!!! Televise it. Put it on pay-per-view. Show it after 1am. Kids are asleep, collect the money for a year from ppv, donate it to victims of the killers.

So, death penalty, no.
But slavery and torture, yes?
I’m okay with it if there is ZERO doubt about the crime.

I’m all for it
In fact, they need to elevate the production of these things and make them free and open to the public. A UFC type event if you will, with an undercard, a main card, and ring girls. Make this shite a spectacle. Show the bad guys out there that our justice system isn’t fricking around
