If y'all are against people benefits or equality, then why are y'all ok with inheritance?

My children did nothing to earn what I buy them right now!
You should take ALL the money I use to buy my kids stuff!
Dumb frick. A HUGE part of earning is to support those you LOVE.
It's actually kind of a biological imperative.

I doubt it. Saw that on Wiki. $1.5 is probably closer. Unless he inherited $100M recently.

Some might, most wouldn't. There is no way to equalize things like; intelligence, desire, leadership ability, dependibility, etc.

Because the person who made the money should have the right to give it to his family if he chooses. This is a silly question.
My point to the whole "those kids didn't earn it" silliness is always..........."well neither did the frickers who want to take it!"
Seems to me, that means it's a question of who gets to decided and on THAT front.....
Guy who actually earned it > than guy who doesn't like what guy who earned it decided

News flash dick cheese. Minority race/socioeconomic classes get advantages in almost every single metric from test scores, admissions, and grossly so in scholarship. If you are a “disadvantaged” minority with moderately good grades and a little bit of desire, you will go to college for free. That’s a fact, not an opinion.

What people like DeBlasio are essentially saying is," I want to play God!"

There is more discussion in this one thread than any democrat deserves.
I can't believe the threads started on the debate. Why would anyone watch the debate???

Jack up tax rates and watch all the money leave the country.

There wasn't a decent documentary on concerning tariffs or film credits last night...

quote:Fixed.
The people receiving inheritance after it’s been confiscated by government via inheritance taxes did nothing to earn the money.
quote:Shame on you. You’re judging people character purely by the wealth of their parents. You have no idea if any individual is spoiled or generous—other than the prejudiced stereotype that’s been planted in your own head.
Instead of giving to already spoiled over privilege children,
quote:See above. Being able to take other people’s stuff is the epitome of greed and privilege.
why not take this money and put it into programs to help build stronger communities or for education for those who cannot afford it?
Posted on 6/27/19 at 12:33 pm to elprez00
quote:”You didn’t build that”. You are the “wrong hands”. We need to take money from hard-working, personally-responsible, successful people like you and give it to people that have decades-long histories of failure and non-productivity so our nation can be awesome!
So my reward for going to college, picking a good degree, putting in work, hours, and effort required to learn my trade and advance in my career including long periods away from my family to get to a point where i finally make a very comfortable salary is to give 70% of it to people that didn’t?

It absolutely should matter to the masses. I guarantee you, no matter how much "the rich" are taxed, it will never be enough. Eventually, they will be coming after everyone.

I didn't watch the debate. What DeBasio said cut to the heart of the Democrat platform, making what he said very relevant.

I dont understand how someone could say this with a straight face. No matter how much money is made. You add SS, Medicaid, State taxes, sales taxes, phone bill fees, etc...you're barely keeping 10% of your income.

I stand corrected.
One highly dubious site out there said different.

quote:So you’re cool with exploiting politically weak minorities? Interesting position. Pleas elaborate on why that’s not only acceptable—but a good idea.
I don't see the issue with this. We already have a bracket system that is tiered. Simply extending it shouldn't matter to the masses.
Secondly, would you be bothered if someone was raping your neighbor’s wife? I mean... it doesn’t affect you, right, so why would you care?

Because the money belongs to the person who made the money and they get to decide what to do with it. If they don't want their little rich snot of a kid to get the money, don't leave it to them.
