Two things.

We don't really have poor people in the US.

But, it isn't wrong that a LOT are looking for handouts. Denying this is silly.

quote:

You start these people out in life with the same opportunities that you were born into than they would be as successful if not more successful than you are.
LOL "They" started out in many different ways. And, tons of the people standing right next to them at the start are doing just fricking fine.

quote:

They difference between them and you is that they would be willing to help others also succeed.
Liberals don't help people. Liberals vote to force OTHER people to help people.

Every time in my life when I've participated in direct aid to poor people or homeless people, I was surrounded by conservatives. The liberals were waiting for the next election to "help"

not sure what to tell you. Lots of self proclaimed libertarians who believe free market alone will solve everything by "creating competition" on this board.

Rich people usually find loopholes to avoid paying taxes anyway
Well no shite. People will always use a loophole that favors them, no matter whether they're rich or poor or whether we're talking about tax law or criminal law. You know how many people take advantage of tax loopholes by not reporting cash income? Maybe we should get rid of the loopholes and go to a federal sales tax. Now the rich won't be able to use all kinds of creative accounting and deductions to avoid paying taxes, and waiters and hair stylists won't be able to avoid taxes by under-reporting their cash tips.

quote:

Most of you who think that they are lazy or didn't work hard enough to make it are usually people who are born into privilege, either being born white or into other advantages that not all people are born into. So you do not know the struggles people have to go through who are not born on a even playing field.
GTFO with that bullshite. My dad busted his arse working 70 hours a week pretty much until the time I was finishing high school so we could have a decent childhood in a safe neighborhood. I'm not from some privileged background, unless you consider a household with 2 working parents to be "privileged".

That's been thrown on the table already. Death taxes so high the kids would have to sell the assets just to pay the tax

That shite is coming one day

I'm pretty sure Prince's estate is dealing with that now because he never put his money in a trust or anything like that.

Apparently liberals think we're not being taxed enough even though you're taxed when you make money and you're taxed when you spend it. You even get taxed for having it in a bank.

Yeah. It needs to be in the hands of Bill and his lawyer and real estate cronies.

So unfair.

DeBlasio has an estimated worth of $1.5M. I’m guessing his opinion is that his wealth is “in the right hands.”

Because the person who made the money should have the right to give it to his family if he chooses. This is a silly question.
