There's reasonable taxes and there is what the Democrats want

Our current system is a joke regardless

How much are De Blasio, Sanders, Hillary, Fienstien Kerry, McCain worth? That would buy enough soap and toothpaste for all illegals.

this is the crux of the issue.

Conservatives generally accept the fact that taxes are a necessary evil. The problem occurs when government spending is horribly frivolous and wasteful, and they want more of your money to piss away.

frick that.

Yes, stealing a bunch of money from the responsible, productive, and innovative and giving it to the irresponsible, lazy, and unproductive is a great path to a good country.

Would you hire a bunch of homeless people to run your company?

if there was a way to absolutely, undoubtedly guarantee it would be effectively used for infrastructure, education and healthcare, I'd be fine with extending the tax bracket.

But it won't be my money anyways. Assuming it's an income tax solely, I'll likely never exceed the current max.

If waste were cut down to a "reasonable" level, I think we'd find that we could in fact lower taxes and be better off all around.

You don't know a lot of wealthy people if you honestly believe they are all responsible, productive and innovative.

Rich people usually find loopholes to avoid paying taxes anyway. (One reason why Trump won't release his tax returns), the expression 'The Rich keep getting Richer" comes into play. Ya'll all think all people are born with the same opportunities and it's their own fault if they are not rich in life. Most of you who think that they are lazy or didn't work hard enough to make it are usually people who are born into privilege, either being born white or into other advantages that not all people are born into. So you do not know the struggles people have to go through who are not born on a even playing field.

Most of them are. And if they’re not, one of their predecessors was so responsible, productive or innovative that they passed it on. So what?

They need to watch out or rich people that stay out of politics may donate to republicans. We need more employee owned companies. You have to be a real dumbass to vote for more corporate tax when you own stock in the company you work for.

The rich are a moving target. Who is to say that "rich" won't mean someone with a car, house, and retirement account when Bernie explains that the taxes of the 1% aren't enough to fund his programs?

Care to explain how the top few percent pay 90% of the taxes?

Not everyone. Most do, yes. I have a personal example of an extremely wealthy individual I know in Memphis. All of his business is in Memphis, within driving distance.

He writes all off all of his vacations on his airplane for business. He entertains no one. My best friend is his pilot. Also a write off. He talks about this pretty openly.

Congrats on a compelling example of tax fraud. What’s the point?
