I know I am guilty of self-centeredness, too sometimes. I’m trying to become more self-aware.

Assuming you're not as much you'd like to be, try to become more self-sufficient instead.

If everyone was a little more self-centered (positively and not destructively), everyone would be a lot less dependent on others.

Because figuratively, which is how the phrase about walking in someone else’s shoes is usually used, you’ve never walked in anybody else else’s shoes but your own.

Please don’t confuse my comment to me that I assume the shoes you have walked in are any better or any worse than anyone else’s. I would not intentionally be as bold to pretend I know.

I have and I made damn sure I was never in that position ever again. You can do the same if you choose to do so.

Congratulations on any and all obstacles you have had to overcome in life. I am a sucker for those stories.

I’m not sure why you would assume that.

I disagree. And I am a capitalist.

DEF is a hidden tax on all consumers, too. Freight would be a lot cheaper without it, but no Dem has ever bitched about Obama's EPA shoving it down our throats

I hate DEF as well. How much DEF does your truck go through. If I had to pick one or the other to go, I'd get rid of the EGR before DEF. I drive a 21 Cummins and I really don't put much DEF in it unless I'm towing frequently.

But I won't argue with your point either way. Even with a rollback of EPA regulations, I don't think either are going away. The manufacturers have poured a TON of money in to extending engine life with those systems for them to back it out. And given the yo-yo policies of administrations, they'll just leave it on there so the next dumbass liberal president enforces those regulations back.

Plus it's more stuff on the truck to break and for the service shops to charge for.

Just one obvious comment about your confusion:

You’re conflating “the Government “ with the Trump Administration.

Those are two totally different entities with way different history and abilities to affect and influence matters.

I’ll be nice and say that is a bit naive.

This whole Iran deal should highlight some key factors for people.

Namely, Trump can do some direct things via EO, which remove roadblocks from US companies to readily and steadily produce oil here, and help bring costs down. He did that with both terms to reverse Democrats policy.

Democratic Globalist policy is to place strict limitations on that which drive costs up. Obama and Biden did it with their EO's.

But the fun part. The US gets ZERO oil from Iran. What comes from the Strait is only 20% of Global oil, none of which comes to the US. We ban oil from Iran.

So why is it so high? Basically, speculators entrapped in a Globalist Oil Cold War. There really is no reason for it to be higher now. But Globally, those enemies of the US are getting their economies arse handed to them.

It's making the EU handing free shite to Terrorists much more expensive than they can tolerate.

Why is it that y'all can understand that about gas prices, but not tariffs?

Tariffs are meant to level the playing field with other countries ultimately. We’ve been screwed for so long that people forget how long we’ve been screwed.

The EU will not last much longer. Many of the eastern, slavic nations are already fed up and their economic powerhouse Germany is bleeding jobs.

This is how we lose elections. Not everyone is wealthy, retired or has short commutes. There are working class people suffering. To act like they don't matter is how we lose the house and the senate.

Exactly! My commute to work is 3/4ths of a mile. And I make one single run to one of the metro areas once every two weeks. I use more gas in the S×S going fishing. By far.

And gas prices still suck. Costs $35 to fill the S×S right now when it was only costing $20 a year ago. And those inflationary prices are increasing incrementally across the board. I'm no O-T baller by any means, but i definitely do ok for myself, and still not afraid to admit that these prices suck, and the Iran conflict should have been over by the end of April. Now, I'm staring down a road trip vacation next month to the West, and it looks like it's going to be $5/gal+ for gas from Albuquerque to the coast.

"bullshite. We lose election because people elect losers like Thune who don’t do shite when in the majority. Then voters see that, get discouraged and stay home.

If there is a bloodbath in November it won’t be over gas prices (which will be back down by then) it’ll be because of a lack of fight in most GOP politicians."

The scary thing is that people believe stuff like this.

If you can afford a Side by Side, I don't want to hear you complain about a $15 difference in the cost to fill it up.

There is a difference here. Like my old coach used to say, can and want to are completely different. Can I afford 5 buck diesel, sure doesn't really hurt me. Do I "want to?" no not really.
