I'm shocked that you didn't expect to change anyone's mind with that seductive introduction. Douche.

Haha. Just put them in a camp at Bob Jones University.

Fun side fact: Jerry Falwell's Liberty University is the 7th largest university in the US? Must be a lot of online stuff.

I don’t expect to change anyone’s mind since there is always an anti-atheist circle jerk here. If you are really concerned with the truth then I would like for you to imagine you as a christian living in a country with the same constitution and set of laws but filled with islamic or satanic iconography on public land being maintained with your tax dollars. You as a private citizen have every right to demonstrate your faith in any physical manifestation you deem appropriate... on private land. The government should not have islamic, christian, satanic, or any other religious symbology on public property demonstrating a bias towards any particular set of beliefs. Having a secular government is important to maintaining the right to practice your religion.

The problem with this line of thinking is those other religious symbols would go directly against a Christian belief structure. Atheist have no belief structure, therefore, there is no reason to be offended. It would make sense if a Jewish person had brought this issue up, but not an atheist.

I don’t think any of you really want the government to start deciding what religious symbology is acceptable on public property.

Well now in this case it would seem the government just did.

Idk why everyone is so caught up with people being offended. This has nothing to do with a person or group being offended and everything to do with maintaining a secular government with religious bias. This is about policy, not your feelings.

I'm fairly certain the atheist group had nothing but emotion on their minds when they brought this lawsuit.

Gov. Hogan, who ordered the removal of Maryland chief justice Taney's statue from Annapolis, is apparently going to fight this ruling and says 'enough is enough.' I'll reserve judgment until I see how hard he's going to fight it and what resources he's going to put behind the fight. The American 'Humanist' Society is a sickening bunch of a--holes.

Well you brought up Christian's being offended, I was just pointing out the logical fallacy in your argument. If this is strictly a fiscal argument, I'm all for it. But the atheist can't complain about monuments already constructed that require little to no maintenance if that is the case. Agree?

It has been there since 1925. No, the US govt is not pushing Christianity because it's on public land.
