A recent case was a surgeon who had to remove a spleen. He removed the liver instead saying that 'it migrated to the other side and enlarged due to the infection'.
What in the actual frick. He killed that patient as sure as shooting them in the head.
They would've needed an emergency liver transplant to survive.

When it comes to med school that can be bad. A recent case was a surgeon who had to remove a spleen. He removed the liver instead saying that 'it migrated to the other side and enlarged due to the infection'.
That's because livers are larger and on the other side. The patient died.
There is a lawsuit.
I remember seeing that story the other day and I thought "That's a really stupid surgeon", but then I thought " How stupid do you have to be, to get your spleen removed by a surgeon in Destin, Fl.?"

Didn't sound like the guy kept up in certification training. That's everything, especially in IT business systems.

I remember back in the 70's and 80's when an MBA was a pretty fricking impressive degree.

The REAL issue for as long as I can remember. People want to pick their job and match it with their desired compensation. Most of these dumb fricks don’t have that type of leverage especially just bc you got a fricking degree lol

Regretfully, I have to point out that they just imported a few million illegals to remedy that. Their money model simply cannot work with a blue collar middle class. Especially one that the system allows a chance to improve (take profit margin) even more.

An MBA should be polishing professional work experience. Most people now are trying to do an MBA right out of undergrad which is useless.
I am tired of people who are “consultants” that don’t know anything.

The cream rises to the top, regardless of the level of indoctrination/education. There are a couple of guys that work with me that are usually the smartest people in the room, both very highly paid, and have very high responsibility. one quit high school, the other has a HS diploma. Both are exponentially better producers than the IT degree dorks they boss around every day

Tough keeping up with jobs when you have millions flooding the country every year. Granted an MBA should be in a different category, but still hard to employ all these people.

Higher education was never intended to be merely job training. We should honestly get back to a place where it isn't necessary to have a degree to get a job. Return universities to the mission of educating people for the sake of educating people. No more social engineering. Let the people who want to learn go to to college. The people who don't can get to work and be just fine.
Amen!

Not all colleges nor all degrees and not for all kids.
I told both my kids to find something they like that will allow them to pay their bills, but to make sure that they come out of school knowing as much or more than those currently in the work force.
My 28 y/o is a 7th grade math teacher and is working on her masters. My 31 y/o son has a Civil Engineering degree from GA Tech, and, as of last year, he made around $100k building buildings in ATL with a global contracting company. He is now getting his MBA. At his pace, he will continue moving up to selling services from providing services.
They both work their butts off; however, her efforts will never pay off as well as his.

You typically don't have the opportunity to shop around for that kind of procedure.

I agree but good luck being the hiring manager if your new employee stinks and it comes out that you hired them over applicants with college degrees. People are looking to minimize risk more so than getting a home run hire

Seems like there's more to the story

He probably has serious deficiency in his candidacy and/or is applying for the wrong jobs.
