Higher education was never intended to be merely job training. We should honestly get back to a place where it isn't necessary to have a degree to get a job. Return universities to the mission of educating people for the sake of educating people. No more social engineering.
Let the people who want to learn go to to college. The people who don't can get to work and be just fine.

When it comes to med school that can be bad. A recent case was a surgeon who had to remove a spleen. He removed the liver instead saying that 'it migrated to the other side and enlarged due to the infection'.

The whole article was hard to follow. One section says he had an MBA, another said it was counseling. The mention of alcoholism and lack of steady work since 2010 seemed like a flag. But, then it ended by his admission that he doesn’t live near any cities, and wants a remote gig.

College was a critical helper in getting me my first job. Not just a req but my boss worked with people from my university previously. Just a bachelor degree and no problem getting a job.
I've also got friends who college didn't work for but technical programs fit perfectly. They've also found great jobs in the last few years.
Idk what this dudes issue is but clearly there is more to the story than he has a background in counselling and AI and can't find a job despite both being booming fields.....

Was the worst article. This dude had no high school diploma, then went to CC. It really doesn’t mention MBA in the article, though the title does, so I guess he got one. I’d bet my niece’s house that he got his MBA from a horrendously garbage school and likely fully online.

A) An MBA isn't a note from your mom entitling you to anything.
