Not sure who down voted but think about a couple things, if a war were to break out with China in the future isn't Trump going to look like a genius for finding different ways to get the goods we need or do you think China is going to continue to ship material to the United States that we would need while fighting them?

What do you think is going to happen to the CCP and slave labor when these 145% start affecting the price of Nikes, skateboards, etc... and these companies start shutting down Chinese plants?

Trump is making bold moves , it may or may not work but fairly certain there's plans B,,C,D. Unlike Biden who's biggest plans were whether to shite his diaper before or after his pudding cup

Yep, if they go this route they will for sure sink their own auto companies even further.
You don't think China dropping tariffs on EV's from the EU would be part of the deal?

Doubt this ever happens but Western Europe has proven to be pretty stupid. I hope the EU doesn’t think China will let them sell their vehicles or goods in China. Bet that will be a sticking point.

A thoughtful, mature contribution too the discussion, Geaux… let’s destroy half of western civilization… that’ll show the world we mean business…

Just say you don’t know.

That’s not that bad of a take given how fast everything is changing.

Hint: It's not really changing. We've just been taking it in the arse for the last 50 years, and Trump is willing to deal with the slings and arrows to make it stop. Our elected employees and our bureaucracy has bought "allies" and "partners" for us for the last 50 years with taxpayer dollars. They were never allies or partners, and still won't be even if they now decide to stop screwing us over.

Do your real friends take advantage of you every chance they get?

So you’ll take the time to respond over and over again but think ppl won’t see through your bullshite avoidance of the simple question?

Who are our allies?

The problem with both the E.U. and China is demography. They both have such aged populations that they both need to be net exporters to keep their economies afloat as domestic demand is going down in both places.

Chinese electric vehicles

So, when these Harbor Freight tinker toy vehicles breakdown and there is absolutely no recourse, what then?

That is an utter LIE! Chinese EV's are complete garbage. There are dozens of videos of Chinese EV's catching fire or malfunctioning on the internet. Look up Laowhy89, The China Show, Serpentza, or Chinese Observer for further proof. These are Westerners who used to live in China with Chinese families. They had to leave because their lives were being threatened by The CCP.

Dozens you say...out of what.... 21 million EVs in China. There are also hundreds of cases of Tesla's catching fire. I dont have any love for the CCP or EVs for that matter and even less love for Chinese made garbage but anyone that follows the industry knows the Chinese, especially BYD is making huge strides in reliability and tech of their EV cars.

They are not our ally.

Look up what each “NATO” country has spent since 2006 and what it should have been based on their pledge. Germany alone underspent over $500B

The farce needs to end. We don’t share values with them, and we don’t share the same goals

Just responding to you, honey.

We don't really have any allies. When you poke your nose in other people's business, and play the worldwide bully for 50 years, fair weather friends is about as good as it gets. This tariff issue has exposed exactly that.

Do you see this as a good thing? To not have any trade allies?

Flooding Europe with cheap Chinese vehicles will wreck European auto industry. But have at it, they're on a downward trajectory anyway

Trump handed the EU to Xi on a platter. Its going to be a lot more than EVs.

2 things.

If the EU rathers China then they will get what is coming. China will destroy EU’s industry & will also figure out EU’s consumerism isn’t the US

Also that sounds like an EU problem more than an American problem.

You're only half wrong, Trump proved we can destroy Western civilization with his tariffs. Did you notice how markets dropped world wide when he imposed them. Trump is doing what he should, he showed that the entire world depends on the United States more than we depend on them.

even if they do, good luck shipping your goods via the horn of Africa without the US Navy between Iran/Houthis and pirates.

Gonna cost EU a fortune to receive EVs shipped through the Panama Canal.

They would go through the Suez Canal, thanks to the US protecting the shipping lanes
