"Chief Justice John Roberts broke with the court's five-justice majority and joined the three liberal justices in dissent.
Roberts wrote that the ballroom is “likely unlawful” because Congress has constitutional authority over federal property in Washington, D.C., and has not expressly authorized construction of the new structure."
“Today’s decision is no victory for the separation of powers,” Roberts wrote.
We just can't depend on this guy.

Robert’s is the type of guy who goes around telling everyone he voted for Trump 3x but just can’t support him.

President's have remodeled the White House for 100 years now and nobody once cried "CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL NEEDED" until now.

The decision ultimately rested on the party bringing suit lacking standing to bring the suit.
According to Roberts, the members of the National Trust for Historic Preservation had standing simply because (in his opinion) of their “decades-long membership” in the National Trust for Historic Preservation and commitment to that cause. According to that leftist piece of traitorous filth, that was enough to meet the legal threshold for standing.
So, let me get this straight -- according to Roberts, NO ONE in the entire United States had standing to challenge the most obviously rigged and fraudulent election in HISTORY where every Democrat governor in every swing state LITERALLY broke many, many laws to rig the outcome, but this NOTHING FAR LEFT WHACKJOB POLITICIZED GROUP that no one has ever heard of has standing to sue the President of the United States over building a ballroom that Presidents will use long after Trump is gone???
Every citizen in the f*cking country should have had standing to challenge Democrats and RINOs putting in a f*cking dementia-riddled, corrupt f*cking vegetable (and his LITERALLY ignorant f*cking whore of a VP) into the Oval Office. But, according to Roberts, NO ONE had standing. But, any far left whackjob politicized group has standing to question Trump's following the precedent of past President's in improving the White House.
Hell, even Jackie Kennedy (a freaking First Lady) spent a shitload of money on redoing the entire interior of the White House without Congressional approval. She was praised for it and they did a documentary about it.

I mean, they tore down the East Wing and started building something new, so what did they expect to happen?

Roberts is the uniparty's general counsel.

Media should never again report Roberts voted with the liberal wing as if that's news. He is the liberal wing.

Congress has repeatedly delegated power to the executive (heads of agencies) when statists have been in power, across every agency one could recollect off the top of your head. Get fricked, Roberts. Again.

What percentage of political discourse this year been about this goddamn ballrom?
Now out of all the issues we got as a country, we got a goddamn supreme court decision on Trump’s ballroom.
They slow rolled striking down the OSHA vaccine mandate, but Trump’s ballroom
somehow on the rocket docket.
The marxists get into power and the first thing they’ll do is destroy trump’s ballroom.
They’ll turn it to a rage room where tds’ers smash ice cubes on somthing that use to be Trumps.

Fine.
Go stand over there with Ketanji, Sotomayor, and Kagan.
Cause that’s where you frickin’ belong!

It’s an open secret that Roberts likes to be on everyone’s cocktail party list in DC.

Nah, they'll love it once he is gone. They only act this way because it's him doing it.
Also, I feel like there is more to all of this that we don't know. It's odd that Roberts would side with the libs over something so trivial as this. I mean, I know that he slides with them sometimes, but not always, and this one is so obviously stupid it makes no sense why he voted against this.

Disappointed that Trump's team hasn't found something to downlow get him to "retire".
We need a new chief justice asap

The way the democrats keep pursuing this you would think Trump will be living in the White House forever.

What annoys me is how they say its a conservative court, no its not. You have two conservatives, four middle of the road, and three loons.
So we always start off three votes in the hole, no matter the issue. Even the two conservatives are justified in their thinking. So every case you are left trying to convince 5 of 6 justices to make the right decision.

Sad.
Even Bill Maher and John Fetterman agree with the ballroom.

Seriously?
Interior decorating has gone on since Day 1 as wives run the house, even if it is the White House. If you can not tell the difference between redecorating and restructuring, heaven help those who are involved in whatever you do for a living.
FWIW
Jackie has international class
DJT is over the top gaudy

It sounds like you're upset that the White House will now have a ball room and won't have to host events under tents on the lawn.
That's strange.
