The 1% don’t pay taxes. The 52% don’t pay taxes. It’s the poor fricks in between that pay the taxes.

The IRS should be eliminated immediately and replace it with a VAT tax. Make everyone pay.

I agree with this and we could go even further by trimming and or eliminating a whole host of other alphabet agencies that would help reduce the deficit as well...

EPA
DOEd
BLM

Etc, etc

I never said that. At all.
No one said you did. Just demonstrating your selectivity. Screaming the “republicans are irresponsible because they haven’t cut the budget!!” while ignoring the side that not only opposes every effort to cut spending—they want to spend trillions more is silly.

one?

I never said they either. I’m not arguing the Dems are fiscally responsible by any means.
So no. You cannnot name a single democrat calling for social security cuts. But you only criticize republicans for being against SS cuts. A gain your selectivity tells the tale.

That chart doesn’t show they are targeting middle class income individuals?
The chart and analysis clearly show the IRS has long had the manpower and ability examine “high income” filers but hasn’t. That’s not going to change with new agents for a couple of reasons.

First high income filers offend have complex returns that are filed with. professional help. Those returns rarely contains mistakes.

Second, “middle” income filers is where all the money is. Any sensible strategy would be to focus enforcement efforts on the vast majority of filers, not the select few that have extensive assistance filing.

It’s not rocket surgery.

Government has never saved money by putting more people on a pension.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not for higher taxation. I just think the so called "fiscal conservatives" target the wrong things. Attack spending first not taxes. It’s like they want their cake and to eat it too to borrow an old cliche. We must pay for the things we spend and not simply put it on our children’s credit card.

Ok, the IRS is another big wasteful spender. I mean you don’t even have to look far back to see their frickups. Stimulus payments.

But, let’s throw more money at them.

So if we want to attack spending. Let’s attack the people robbing you of your labor.

Cutting employees is cutting spending.

How is possible that you don't know that?

The IRS is also counting on the threat it poses to middle income earners. High income filers can afford to fight the IRS. Middle income filers will be intimidated into paying unnecessary taxes and fines simply because they can’t afford to fight. The Feds are basically acting like protection racket.

The other side doesn’t claim to be "fiscally conservative". We all know Democrats spend like crazy, hell they don’t deny it themselves. So what am I ignoring? I’m simply calling out the wrongfulness of most of those who claim to be "fiscally conservative" because they are anything but. They are equally responsible for our massive budget deficit and its continued growth. Hell at least the Democrats attempt to pay for their massive spending, the right just seems to be perfectly fine with putting it on the backs of their children.

Again, the Democrats don’t pretend to be fiscally responsible. So no there won’t be any that want to reform social security. Does it make you feel better that I’ve called them out too now? I’d hate to be selective as you put it.

IRS audits require additional agents. Less people getting away with tax fraud results in more tax revenue.

Hey dipshit, we've had record tax receipts in the Fed Gov coffers every year for the past 12 years. Before adding 87,000 "agents". Explain how we are losing money by not spending money to hire 87k agents.

bullshite. You're a leftist. You'll do and think how you're told.

Like Ukraine?

These "fiscal conservatives" shout praises to the tax cuts but mention social security reform and they’re up in arms because "we’re promised" and such, never mind if it’s sinking the ship.

How does SS stack up to medicare/medicaid, food stamp entitlements, defense spending, Ukraine, etc...?

This is 2021, but about 16%. Of $7.4 trillion

If you look at 2022 it jumped to 19% and the $1.22 trillion spent on it is the top category of federal expenditures:

Ah yes. This is why fiscal conservatives are dead. Republicans reduce government revenue without actually offsetting it. At least Democrats pretend to offset increased spending by raising taxes.
