I would imagine that even their military, in their current weak state, would not follow orders to go along with any joint exercuses and give and take or conciliatory military relations with China.
I cannot even begin to imagine our current military hierarchy allowing it to hapoen. I mean our generals are friends with their generals.
It would be paramount to civil war.
Not only that but half of all Canadians, if not more, are very pro U.s. and.... well, most of Canada is empty. It's the second largest country in the world but it's populated at about the same density as Alaska. Something like 5 people per square mile.
I'd be willing to bet that the Canadian rednecks would side with the U.S. as friendlies, ESPECIALLY in Western Canada from Saskatchewan to the Pacific.
The Northwest Territories and The Yukon are actually less populated than Alaska I'm pretty sure.
I mean, I've hunted up there a few times and most people cannot even begin to imagine how sparsely populated and pro American Western Canada truly is. Hell ... it's uninhabitable. I was up there in the winter and they had mosquitoes and these big black blow flies and elk flies that would swarm like clouds and bite plugs out of you .... Canada is why deet was invented.
Canada is not self sustained. They rely on us to function.

Exactly. We would sink every Chinese naval vessel before they made it halfway across the pacific

By the unarmed liberals? Alberta would GTFO. The Canadian Military, those who can use a gun would not defend them.

Never going to happen. The UK is far closer to the US than Canada, France couldn't give a crap about Canada.
Plus Nukes.

Carney talks tough, but so did Maduro...he better watch it! Canada is no more dangerous than Venezuela to the U.S..

Could we sent all the Somalis across the border so Canada can practice?

This is patently false.
Canada is packed with Chinese, Muslims, and Leftists shitbags.
There are a handful of redneck baws (and they hate your ilk).

Unless, of course, they are already here.
Canada has a shite ton of Chinese. They are ALL members of the CCP.

The only redneck boys you speak of are likely 90% conservative and in the countryside not the liberal cities. You know the conservatives who love the military and have fought all the wars to give you liberals freedom,
lol. Liberal men aren’t exactly the most masculine and fearsome of men.

Would we even need the army? Seems like we could just tell a bunch of regular citizens to go claim it with the deer rifles.

I heard they lost over 26,000 soldiers and another 88,300 deserted to the U.S.

Meanwhile, a conflict with China likely ends in disaster.
Trillion dollar military only good for picking on the third world and Canada….

Others, though, stressed that boosting Canadian defenses and drawing up plans would help deter the threat of invasion — even if it is a minimal one.
“The better Canada can embrace this approach to homeland defence,” University of Toronto political scientist Aisha Ahmad said, “the less likely all of these horrible scenarios that nobody wants will ever come to pass.”
Ahmad sure thinks of the US as an enemy...

Pretty sure the defense would be some Chinese drone swarm. Many countries do not have enough men that can carry a gun. But they can probably fly a drone.. Appears from videos that is a common tactic in Ukraine / Russia. Drone defense has to be solid. Assume we have a plan for that if they are flying on pure AI.

They'd get desperate and accept help from China.
China would then destroy them, and start building for their own ultimate goal of taking the US mainland.
In the short term, I would be curious if they'd feel "threatened" enough to proactively move on Alaska. I'd certainly assume "no", but TDS makes people do wild things.
