Since i don't live in california it doesn't really affect me. states rights and all.
If it works out super well other states may adopt it. if it fails it won't get traction. hell it may not even get traction in california. Seems like they're also not necessarily talking just cash handouts.
I'm not sure if reparations is the answer. There's been a lot of bad shite happen to a lot of bad people throughout history. But that's easy to say as a cherokee whose tribe gets money and a moat around their money making sources thanks to treaties and contracts with the state and federal governments.

I need reparations too. I am a victim of anti white male discrimination in a professional services industry position, and it has cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'm not kidding. This isn't something that happened to some ancestor of mine 200 years ago to whom I'm barely related. This happened to me three years ago.

This is why I always roll my eyes when people say that we should not help Ukraine because "we should be spending money here in the USA on things".
There is no guarantee that if we stop spending on Ukraine (which is costing 1/10th of what this will cost) that the "not spend Ukraine money" will go to things like the border, veterans, etc. It will probably go do stuff like this (and keep in mind this is just one state out of 50 though granted it is a huge state).

Conceptually, reparations serve as a settlement. Does this settlement have any terms?
Democrats are so damn stupid and this is a prime example. Sounds like a nice thing to do but in reality will solve nothing socially and cause more problems fiscally.
