My speculation is that the sister assuming power would trigger an internal divide within the military. She would be pushing to prepare for an invasion of the South while officers who see such a conflict as suicide would organize swiftly to remove her and replace her with a military counsel or with a rival family member as a puppet. If she wins, Seoul burns.
