This is absolutely the case in alot of places, even if not exactly as he described. There is way too much "more serious" crime for the State to fill the prisons with smaller and drug offenses. Hence the explosion of probation for minor crimes and drugs.

Unfortunate reality. A ton of parishes in Louisiana are already out of room completely and have to ship their pre-trial guys to the shitty smaller parishes up north just to house them.

The warped ideology of liberalism is truly something. The truly "privileged" people (criminals not held accountable for multiple serious offenses) view themselves as MISTREATED.

Can you imagine committing 12 felonies, having them all dropped, and still having a chip on your shoulder like you're being "picked on"? It's incomprehensible.

Liberalism doesn't help society - it destroys you. It creates a snowball effect of criminal entitlement.

Every day I sit in traffic and can smell the weed coming from cars in front of me. Needs to stop.

I don't doubt that a bit. I remember someone running for DA in a small parish and was saying if elected he was taking every case to court. People with basic accounting knowledge freaked the frick out because they knew that would bankrupt the parish within the first year.

Thankfully, he lost.

That said, there should be some way to penalize such criminals in a way that sticks with them but doesn't break the organization's budget. Confiscating property in lieu of cash, maybe? I mean... it would be hard to be a sneaker-head if your Jordans were taken and held as part of your probation and then you broke probation.

It's not systemic.

Black people are loud about everything. When you are speeding in your neon green charger you might get pulled over before that beige minivan.

Oh, I only got pulled over because I'm black. No, you were doing 100 on the twin span with an open container.

“really did show me the reason I was getting out for good”

It’s not just in the civilian world.I was on Navy Shore Patrol Rota Spain 1971-1973.
A white sailor pulled a knife on me one night.I gave him several commands to drop the knife,I ended up whacking his hand holding the knife with my nightstick(broke his hand).
He was courtmartialed, spent some time in the brig and was kicked out of the Navy.

Four of us were dispatched to a domestic disturbance(husband -wife fight )
Wife was drunk out of her mind, husband was tipsy but seemed co-operative.Wife ended up attacking her female neighbor trying to calm her.We were trying to pull the drunk wife off her neighbor as both were on the ground.
The husband came up behind me and slashed at me with a straight razor,I caught his wrist no more than 12 inches from my face.twisted his arm behind his back and shoved him down on the hood of a car that was there.
I had a death grip on his wrist,he was violently waving his hand with the razor trying to cut me.My partner ended getting cut on his hand, got 8 stitches.
Serious charges were filed,he was a 1st Class PO(E-6) with 16 years in.All he got was fined $100,reduction in rank of 1 paygrade( suspended for 6 months). He wasn’t even courtmartialed, just c.o. non judicial punishment.
Difference in the other guy was the 1st class was black so he skated.
Only satisfaction I got out of it was his arm was in a sling at the hearing.

My command had been putting pressure on me to re-up,I was seriously considering it as they offered me 3 more years in Spain.

After that happened I said frick this,I got out.
Dampened any consideration I had for going into law enforcement after getting out.

So. Reading all of these comments are leading me to the following understanding:
1) Counties don't have enough money to jail everyone who should be.
2) So they put pressure on the judges to not seriously charge people that should be charged.
3) That emboldens the criminals (and others) to commit more crime.
4) Go back to step 1.

Wouldn't it work better if these counties just:
-Told their police to go for it.
-Have their judges go for it in charging criminals.
-Damn whatever the cost is for policing and housing of criminals because it will be temporary once the criminals know not to F around in this jurisdiction?
-This then prevents more crime from happening thus lowering the overall costs of housing and prosecutions (and policing), thus effectively reducing the costs to the county within a few years to a decade, making it much less than it is now, thus meeting the country's demands to spend less money on crime prevention and prosecution and housing?

But all of this is just indicative of what I see as the overall biggest issue in our society (and all of the West right now) - simple short sightedness stemming from a dumb, corrupt system that only rewards short term gains and conditions people to just get into a looting/extraction mindset rather than an investment/long term mindset.

We just need a crusade or something at this point. It can't be any worse than continuing this slow decline into anarchy.

Like the simps being the issue with the delusion of women nowadays. The judges are the ones that are the issue with these criminals hanging out in the street committing even more crimes.

The diseased mind of the leftist forces it to be intellectually dishonest because it views reality as "racist".

I had a really good Body Cam thread in the OT but it got anchored by our TD overlords.

They never say why, just anchors away. Pretty chicken shite if you ask me. Pun intended.

One of the worst police brutality cases that I know about was the homeless white guy in Fullerton California. The video was not body cam but a nearby security camera. The audio was deeply disturbing as well as the pictures of the aftermath.
