No chance in hell of passing.

That is not the business of the federal government of the US.

So coaching salary is only 10X cost of school attendance?
So for a Louisiana resident to attend LSU is $11,954 per year tuition. You telling me the most LSU can pay Brian Kelly is $119,540 per year?

This guy is an idiot.
All he did is clearly demonstrate that he is focused on the wrong issues. Even with that his solutions are laughable.

baylor lost a 5 star player to byu. pricetag was 3.5 million. how can schools even build a program?
And not one fan can tell you what this kid does to earn 3.5 mil other than being hired to win. Again it has nothing to do with his name image or likeness other than being on a roster. Just like Portnoy stealing that qb isnt doing anything for barstool but expected to win football games as an amateur athlete who has never played one game.

The bill also takes aim at coaches’ salaries as those figures rise. A coach’s maximum annual salary would have a cap of, “10 times the full cost of attendance at such institution,” according to the text.
Youd have zero competent coaches that would want to navigate that circus for that amount of money. They barely want to do
it for millions as it is

Shocking, the schools just sat on their hands and did nothing allowing the fedgov to rear its head. That bill is absolutely horrible.
No way should every athlete earn the same money. Some of the sports are lucky to even still exist on the backs of the real revenue sports.

Per the bill, the ACSA would have a commissioner appointed by the President with advice and consent of the Senate. The commissioner would serve four-year terms.
In addition, the bill calls for NIL funds and revenue directly shared with the schools to be distributed “equally among all student athletes of such institutions within the ACSA

You sign a contract and getting paid good money ; you hv to commit and if you choose to leave you lose that year of eligibility and hv to give the money back.
That would pretty much stop this non non sense.

Oh look, government trying to regulate things they shouldn't regulate.

Won't happen, but they will get sued for this right out the gate.
For instance. Coaching USC: tuition is $73,260/year (Same for instate and out of state). That would get you $732,000/year.
Coaching LSU: Out of state tuition: $29,148. So the coach would make $291,000.
Exactly. Know what will happen if this bullshart passes? The students will get f*cked. "Well, LSU needs a new football coach, but USC is offering $700K to our $200K...I know! Let's just raise tuition!"
When will these dumbasses learn you can't artificially control a free market?

Yes, early on these high school kids are signing huge deals, but as these companies start losing money because 75% of them aren't going to be as good as they were hyped, they will slow their roll on doing that in the future.

That's per semester. Ask me how I know...the "TD" in my screen name wasn't chosen because it stands for TigerDroppings...it stands for "Tiger Dad".

Have you seen the cost of attending college and getting a degree?
Yea man. Those marketing degrees are really life changing for the majority of student athletes. Much better outcomes than all the coaches on staff with a 6, 7, or 8 figure contract.

This sounds like a very Marxist bill. Am I wrong in thinking the deets in this proposal sound incredible Marxist? I'm sorry, but hard pay caps along with redistribution of funding, well, Bernie Sanders and AOC would sure as hell approve, so there's that.

Under the bill, conferences would need to include teams within the same time zone
I hope LSU replaces Florida and Georgia with Tulsa and Illinois.
Alabama can't travel next door to Georgia, but they can play Minnesota.
Poor Hawaii gonna be playing themselves 12 times a year.
I don't think the bill's author understands how timezones or college football work.

Oh yeah, this'll go over well
I’m not reading that stupid bill so it may be addressed, but the University of Hawaii gonna dominate its conference.
