Big facts from Dan Bongino yesterday

On the advice of this board, I started listening to Dan Bongino and Ben Shapiro a few weeks ago. Ben Shapiro is quickly beginning to get on my nerves, but I really enjoy Bongino.
Yesterday at the end of his show he referenced the article about those privileged kids cited in the NY Post for tearing shite up.
Dan finally put things into terms I could wrap my head around re: why all these rich (or at least not poor) white people are getting involved in this shite: Boredom.
He referenced a few articles basically stating that capitalism is so successful that these people have to go out and look for (read: invent) problems to complain about.
I had always wondered why these particular people were so upset and seemed to insert themselves into issues they have no experience with or no business getting involved with. Now it makes perfect sense. Worth a listen if you haven't already.

I know I'm well behind in realizing all this stuff. I honestly was pretty apolitical until about 6-7 months ago. Everything going on has finally made me wake up and take interest.

What about the dudes in Portland? How do they even live? I can't believe there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of white people who have nothing to do but be angry all day about "fascists" and prepare for anarchy. Are they just crusties/homeless?

Victor Davis Hanson talks about these kids a lot.

Isn’t that what the Buddhists say? Life is struggle and that suffering is the path to nirvana
Easy living is not the natural state of man (or most creatures in the food chain).

This was probably the best point he made. If you're living in China or North Korea or somewhere else like that, your first and only priority is keeping you and your family alive and fed. Those people don't have time to go out and invent shite to be upset about.

Shapiro and Bongino are the perfect balance of conservative commentary.
Shapiro gives you the intellectual meat that most shows don't bother with because the majority of audiences can't comprehend it.
Bongino is the common red blooded American who, although he is very smart, keeps it on a level the casual listener can follow.
By listening to both you're hearing the whole picture of why American Conservatism is the superior ideology.
And Rush Limbaugh is the Goldwater to their Reagan. Without Rush, there would be no Conservative podcasts or talk radio.

Yep - been saying for decades now that they are just upset because they long for something real to protest like the civil rights demonstrations of the 50s or the Vietnam war.
Now having to invent crap to find relevance.

Jordan Peterson said that “Trouble is far more exciting than boredom.” The summer of chaos followed a nationwide shutdown for a reason.

It’s boredom, sure; but it’s deeper than that too.
To be happy, you have to have meaning in your life.
Whether it be love, productivity or sacrifice/courage.
Humans NEED meaning to be happy.
Imagine an entitled, financially privileged life void of faith.
Yes, these people are decadent and destructive. They seek to manufacture a cause to feel that which is missing. To fill that void.
Long held this theory about the nature of folks that push false narratives.

Definitely believable considering politics, the environment, veganism/vegetarianism, etc, are all basically evangelical faiths where nonbelievers must be converted or destroyed.

Victimhood is an essential identity for the modern leftist. It’s not just boredom.

Reminds me of the movie Overboard in the 80s
Kurt Russell’s character: You know what your problem is? You are so goddamn bored, you have to *invent* things to bitch about! You don't have a single thing to do on this earth except for your hair! The closet was fine, you just needed something to fill up your useless, nail-polishing, toe-polishing, rich bitch, sun-tanning days!

Shapiro, while highly intelligent, just comes across as another academic. Bongino just comes across as a regular dude that we can all relate to with good insights.
