If education truly is freedom… these inner city school districts (and parents) are enslaving these kids and condemning them to a life of failure
Modern slavery was implemented by LBJ to control the voting base, and it still works today, although it is starting to change a bit.

Trust me, there is no meritocracy allowed in Baltimore….

I don't believe this story. HOw do you obtain a 0.13 gpa? If it's that low wouldn't it be a zero gpa? how do you earn 0.13.

In 16 classes you took you got a D in 2 of them and flunked the rest.

And he was never a senior. He just went to school for four years.
Yes and no. The school put him in senior level classes even though he didn't pass the prerequisite 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classes.
The mother certainly isn't a rocket scientist. But everyone at the school appears to be grossly incompetent. This school should have been taken over by the state long ago and the entire school administration and counseling department gutted.

At that point, just get a GED.
He certainly has no business in anything called a school.
Putting him with 14 year olds at 18 is a bad idea.
Manual labor is his future. Put him on a road crew with night classes for a GED.

yet his transcripts show a class rank of 62 out of 120, meaning he was ranked in the top half of his class.
See this is the problem with the article... being ranked 62 out of 120 is not the top half of the class. I strongly suspect the author is also retarded and struggles with simple facts.
So the author used an approximation instead of saying he was in the top 51.7%. Maybe the author assumed that the readers wouldn't be retarded and could figure that out.

Did you ever look at your GPA? Was it ever rounded to the nearest whole number...4.00, 3.00, 2.00, 1.00, or 0.00?

It sounds like mora than half of the senior class went back to the 9th grade. Or was it just one "high-performing" kid?

...
You might want to rethink that...
That would be the bottom 51.66...%

I’m even more shocked he was still in school by 12 grade. Of course he may use that time there to sell to clients and is willingly going back to 9th to continue the sales

Pointing out factually incorrect math is retarded? This explains a lot about where we are as a society. Bravo!

Doesn’t putting an 18 year old with 14 and 15 year olds cause more damage to everyone else than any potential benefit to someone who has already shown they can’t be helped?
Happens in something called high school.

This is an old story.
Still, it's shocking and disappointing to think this sort of thing exists.
