The United Kingdom's nuclear missiles (Trident II D5) are owned by the United States and leased to the UK, based on the Polaris Sales Agreement. While the Royal Navy operates the submarines, the missiles are drawn from a shared US pool, and the UK does not maintain them independently. The nuclear warheads are produced in the UK, but rely heavily on US technology
Word on the street is they used a Casa (now Airbus)C-295W twin turboprop(Spanish built) which is a tactical transport but much smaller than a Hercules which would explain why they could not take the little birds with them because they just won't fit. I don't even think it has an official US designation because it's operated by some secret squirrel unit.
Looking good! On my plate is an ICM models (Ukraine company, first time) 1/48th Bristol Beaufort torpedo bomber from early in WW2, eventually was replaced by the Beaufighter. So much glazing to mask off.

Tamiya smoke X-19 thru an airbrush makes some nice exhaust/gun gas staining.
That there aircraft is more than damaged. That is a write-off/ cann bird. When you have that many valuable rare assets sitting at a base outside conus why is it not better defended? Can we order the E-7 wedgetail now?
I've been wanting to do the hairspray technique as well as the salt technique. For years I never weathered any of my models but now as I get older and bolder I'm going to try some different techniques. I want to buy a Japanese Tony and weather the crap out of it because the Japanese aircraft didn't have a primer coat and their paint did not stand up well to jungle climates.
I think the lack of Salamanders comes from the lack of book/stories about that chapter, and the fact that the Ultramarines seem to be the favorite of games workshop. I almost made this dread a salamander dread with a flamer instead of the Gatling Cannon. I did buy some Salamander water slide decals and I have a set of space Marines that could very easily be made to be salamanders.

But first I have to build High Marshal Helbrecht and High Chaplain Grimaldus

I've been called worse by better.

At least I own it. I'm a 56 year old aircraft mechanic with 37 years of maintaining multi-million dollar aircraft. As a hobby to relax I build plastic model kits of pretty much any subject.

I don't play d&d or anything like that anymore, but I did back in high school. I do read plenty of the Warhammer 40k books, as well as military history books on just about any subject and time frame.

As for Darth and one72 can y'all go shite in somebody else's thread please?
Yes battle damage can be done with very small drill bits and what's called a pin vise which is kind of like an exacto knife handle but for really small drill bits. Also I seen people use rotary bits in a Dremel to do battle damage. I haven't done much practicing battle damage but I've got an old Marine corps M60 tank with a broken off cannon barrel that's going to be my practice piece.

I know Darth usually posts his finished products on the weekend just like I do. There's plenty of thunder to go around. He is one of the reasons why I decided to start posting my models on this forum.
Nice work! I need to add a King Tiger to my stash. I just finished a Warhammer miniature, a thread is somewhere on the first page. What I'm working on right now is a 1/48th scale ICM models (which is an Ukrainian company, never built anything by them before) a Bristol Beaufort in RAF coastal command colors. So far so good it's a pretty good kit I'd rated up there with Tamiya.

That's some excellent detail work.
How tall is the miniature?

It's about 4 in tall by about 3 and 1/2 in wide at the shoulders.

Pretty cool. Just black pebbles covering the base would look better IMO.

I'm still working on the diorama base. I just had some miscellaneous stuff left over and gave that a shot.

Do you have a Penitent Engine model?

No I have not built anything by the Adepta Soroitas.
I've got a couple of ultramarine vehicles and space Marines and I have a Knight I did up in LSU colors.
This one is from the fantasy series/tabletop game/books called Warhammer 40,000. It is a Black Templar chapter Redemptor Dreadnought. It is crewed by a space Marine who is too grievously wounded to survive and continue fighting like regular infantry and is kept alive by the Dreadnought's systems.
