France told Papst her son is “a good kid,”
Always.
The linked story also goes on to detail how attendance ….or lack of it….probably had more than just a small role to play.
There’s a lot of classes where simply even showing up and paying a reasonable amount of attention will probably earn you a “C”.
I’d be surprised if this young fella could even immediately recognize and point out where half the classrooms were located.
No doubt the school administrators are worthless and just pushed his name along grade to grade but it’s not like this kid was busting his butt trying to learn and just unable to get any help.

Another rousing success courtesy of strong (single) black women. This is the type of person I'm supposed to shut up and listen to?

I can try to teach my dog algebra, but I don't think he's ever going to get it.

So when is the 1st class action lawsuit going to filed against any or all of these inner city school systems?

I flunked Spanish I in 9th grade. No one would have batted an eye if I had enrolled in Spanish II, but I still would have had to go back and take SI again. I knew from day one exactly what I had to do to graduate and had every class planned out for every semester.
A person has to actively work at being ignorant to not know what they need to do to graduate high school.

If you watch the video the mother complains that her son is being sent back to 9th grade and is facing 3 more years in school. 9, 10, 11, 12.
The mom should probably be sent back to 9th grade with her son.
She failed her son.
The father... Did not see a father in the video.
The son failed himself, by missing hundreds of days.
The teachers failed.
The councilor failed.
The principal failed
The school board failed.
The city of Baltimore failed.
The teacher's union failed.
Democrat run city failed.
Democrat run state failed.
If only Maryland had Learing centers.

He reports that in the student’s first three years at Augusta Fells, he failed 22 classes and was late or absent 272 times.
How the hell do you not know your kid is out 272 times. No doubt they knew. But no one was enforcing it so they thought it would be ok.
Everyone failed. Baltimore fails.

Why would he do three more years in school?” she asked, and then she put the blame where she thinks it belongs: “He didn’t fail, the school failed him… they failed at their job.”
Well he really didn’t do those last 3 years .
And also.
It’s never their fault. Ever.
There is zero accountability for the student or for the parent to know their kid isn’t passing classes. The phones work both ways. If she was truly interested she could talk to the school guidance counselor for the kids progress or lack thereof

being in the top half of his class as slightly more surprising.
Is it though?
Any video you watch of random people on the skreetz it’s pretty easy to tell they are not bright people there.

MOST urban public schools have become jobs programs laden with DEI personnel who are 'there' to collect a check and NOTHING more. The same situation is pervalent in many local, state and even federal agencies...combine this abomination with our welfare systems laden with free-loaders and irresponsible 'parents' is there any other outcome than abject FAILURE expected ? Yet, the vast majority of our 'leaders' IGNORE all these FACTS and simply 'talk' non-coherent word salads ad nauseum while asking/demanding more tax payer $ to 'solve' all of these undefined/unadressed concepts...and round and round we go ! Perhaps we should FIRST address the core problem i.e. STOP having out of wedlock/unsupported babies...yet that is simply NEVER stated/addressed !!

Why are we even wasting money on these people?
Kill the DOE and stop handing out federal money. If states want to pay for .13 gpas, then that is on them. We need to stop incentivizing poor performance by paying for attendance.

At that point, just get a GED.

If a kid gets a 30F in Algebra 1, in what world is he magically going to make a passing grade in Algebra 2?

This is the type of thing that politicians/leaders have thrown to the side in the last couple of decades and it’s a shame to see. I’m sure that kid was screwing around without great parental guidance (as we can tell), but damn someone needs to be guiding him if his mom and school aren’t. He was/is a child. Completely set up for failure.
