Baltimore is a non- functioning municipality.

Kid from Baltimore transferred to my local school district, and the poor kid was not able to test into his grade. The local school district contacted the principal in Baltimore, and the response was literally "you don't understand, we can't teach these kids." I can assure you, the person who made that phone call to the principal wanted to reach through the phone and rip that woman's weave off her head.

The kid was lucky. His dad, a hard working OTR truck driver, relocated him from a bad situation with a mom who didn't take care of him and placed him into the local elementary school and stayed involved with him. The kid has progressed to his grade level, simply because he's in a good situation with family support and a school district that actually chooses to do their job.

The school administrators in Baltimore were content to cash their paychecks and let the kids fall through the cracks.

Deep, dark blue city.

Wonder if there’s a correlation?

You mean fraud? Those schools get tons of money. You can be stupid, but there's no excuse for this. They failed that guy.

The system wasted 4 years of his life. What a waste of time and resources for everyone involved.

I don’t understand the school continuing to move the kid up to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th level english/science/etc when he failed his freshmen level courses so bad.
It makes a lot more sense when you realize that the sole motivation for the public education system is money, e.g. they want more kids enrolled because every student means more money. The City of Baltimore has a $1.9 billion budget for the education department.

Here is the report card for this specific school. I don't know how anyone looks at these metrics and thinks this is anything but a catastrophic failure.

yet his transcripts show a class rank of 62 out of 120, meaning he was ranked in the top half of his class.

See this is the problem with the article... being ranked 62 out of 120 is not the top half of the class. I strongly suspect the author is also retarded and struggles with simple facts.

Fellas he probably failed every class because he was not in school to begin with. About the only way you can fail a class in a Baltimore public school is by being absent a certain number of days, roughly 3.5 days per month.

Read the long article.
It’s a strong indictment on the school.
.13 GPA, passed along, top half of class…
Grossly mismanaged.
You think going to a dmv in LA is bad…what kind of quality is running that school???

I get the school sucked, but are you gonna tell me whoever raised you never once asked to see a report card your entire time in High School. Never asked to see a test you did or a report you submitted? Never questioned why you didnt go to school on school days?

I get the sentiment, but his profile at fox baltimore pegs him as a Pennsylvania native.

Baltimore is what you get when you let corrupt libs run a the city and schools.

In New Orleans, bout 30 years ago I passed a elementary school and the guy in the car said "thats the school where the shooting happened a couple of weeks ago". I said that school is operational? It had chain link topped by barbed wire around it, a metal detector at the gate, grown up grass, busted out windows.

Two kids got in a fight and the following day a partner passed a gun through the fence and one kid walked into the school (elementary kids) and shot the other boy, who then took the gun from him and chased him through the halls shooting back.

Parents gathered at the school "my babies, oh my babies what kind of school". The superintendent showed up and said shut your fcking mouths.
Due to decreasing population and budget we had to combine two schools from two project areas. We put flyers all over both projects to watch the kids cause we were afraid of trouble. We had fights so we posted a meeting for parents to come and discuss.....two showed up. Now you want to blame the school, we dont raise the children we teach them, you raised them to bring guns to a fricking school so shut your fcking mouths.

How the hell do you not know your kid is out 272 times. No doubt they knew. But no one was enforcing it so they thought it would be ok.

I looked it up. In Baltimore if you miss 20 days in a school year you are supposed to flunk the class, so this kid passed that bar by 400%, Im surprised he got the .13%.....

When did Baltimore start this slide into oblivion you ask.....

Nancy Pelosi, her father, Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., served as the Mayor of Baltimore for three terms from 1947 to 1959. Her brother, Thomas D'Alesandro III, also served as Mayor of Baltimore from 1967 to 1971. Pelosi is a U.S. Representative from California.

And there you have the rest of the story.

This makes me ill.

There are a litany of Epstein threads because what he is accused of is so despicably evil. But in terms of lifelong damage done to kids, there is very little daylight between the Epstein filth and situations like the OP.

Just disgusting.

You can definitely miss too many days and fail automatically. It was called F-6 when I was in high school. I was extremely rebellious. Skipped school, ran away etc. I think it was 10 days a semester
. I showed up one day and was called to the principals office and told to leave and come back next semester because I’d missed too many days and unless I could come up with a doctors excuse, I was going to fail every class even though I was passing every class.
