This is going to be awful and the bad thing is we all will be able to watch it unfold.

Don’t try to switch to the voice of reason in this thread now. You’re not it.

Happy to see this. Sadly, a lot more of this is going to happen when politicians across the country pick a side where criminals are treated like the victims and treat cops like dog shite. It's a dangerous game to play, but without cops around in major cities, people are going to regret it soon.

All I’ve gotten from these movements and protests after two weeks is that the black community wants to be able to do crimes and get away with it

That’s the conversation we need to have?

..or just like let him run away. you have his car, plate, all that info. just get him tomorrow, no need to be an executioner even if he did just embarrass you in 2v1 combat and started to escape.

maybe if 1 of the cops didnt shoot he shouldnt be charged, but shooting someone in the back is a bad look. at least one of them belongs in the pen.
he shot someone in the back because he got away from a 2 with tasers v 1. it would be completely retarded to just check the plates and get the guy later, better shoot him in the back while you have the chance.

Dumbass, you know what else is a bad look?

Beating children, driving drunk, and trying to use a cop's weapon against him?

that's fine but he shot someone in the back i don't see a reason that shouldn't go to court and let a jury and judge decide who is guilty. I'm not even saying he's guilty but there should definitely be a day in court for accountability purposes.

The entire incident was taped. Everyone knows what occurred. You seem confused, however.

Let's say I have a deadly weapon and am running from cops, turn around shoot it, then start running again. Should the cops let me continue running without any regard for me to stop running at any time, turn around, and fire again?

yea but he didnt have a deadly weapon. so your hypothetical doesnt apply here.

Maybe the DA waits for the investigation to be complete before charging.

yeah the quickness these guys were charged is kinda crazy. I do think they had enough evidence for the charges now while the investigation finishes. If the DA thinks he had enough evidence then i could see the charge then he's going to go as fast a possible and complete investigation later. it's not like looking at a case ends the moment charges are filed.

Sure I’m all for that, but the mayor called for his arrest less than 24 hours after the incident (really close to 12 hours). That’s not due process. That’s not innocent until proven guilty. That is political railroading.

ETA: your comment about arrest and charge then finish the investigation is antithetical to the point of our justice system. Do you realize how absolutely terrifying of a precedent that is?

You mean the non-lethal weapon the same DA charged officers with using in a lethal assault last week?

A drunken a-hole who just fought the cops, stole a taser, and fired it at them should just be picked up later?

You think this is like a speeding ticket?

dumbass im not saying dont arrest the guy, just dont shoot him in the back as he tries to escape. they had his car, plates and info. pick up the drunk guy the next day, let him have his day in court that he deserves.

Sure. Cops in big cities have plenty of time. Just push it off til tomorrow. Don’t see any way that could go wrong.

According the same DA no less than 2 weeks ago, a taser is a deadly weapon. This is not justice. It’s political activism and it’s disgusting

Would you feel the same if he killed your wife and kids in a drunk driving accident an hour later? If he robbed you at gunpoint to steak your car to get out of town?
