The same DA charged police with aggravated assault for using a taser just in the past few weeks.

Good for them, the mayor and DA obviously don’t have their back so give them what they want, a lawless city.

yea but he didnt have a deadly weapon. so your hypothetical doesnt apply here.
So now you're saying people have not been killed/died as a result of a taser?

I find reporting on tasers vary.

The reality is a taser can and has killed people before.

Sure I’m all for that, but the mayor called for his arrest less than 24 hours after the incident (really close to 12 hours). That’s not due process. That’s not innocent until proven guilty. That is political railroading

calling for arrest isnt a guilty sentence. its a call for due process to be set in motion.

Didn't Fulton County just charge some officers with using lethal force without cause for using a taser against some college kid?

Of his peers right?

Did you see the DA presser? He already laid the case out completely. Even had a PowerPoint that they had troubles getting on screen.

Oh, did you see the GBI tweeted that they had no idea there was a presser? They are still investigating.

Hope you see justice like this someday. Bring AMS with you.

The statutes that govern police don’t read where the criminal has to have a deadly weapon.

If a fleeing suspect poses a risk of harm to the public or an innocent bystander, then police are justified in using whatever force is necessary to stop the threat. Maybe your critical-race theory college professor should have explained that to you.

A drunk suspect running towards a roadway holding a potentially deadly weapon is a threat to the public. Also, frick you.

Would you feel the same if he killed your wife and kids in a drunk driving accident an hour later? If he robbed you at gunpoint to steak your car to get out of town?

he didnt have a gun so thats retarded. cops could have monitored his car which he would surely return to at some point. its not the wild west, these cops dont need to kill someone because they just got embarrassed when they can just wait like civilized people.

Interesting map, look where zones 3, 4, and 6 are.

What zone is this Wendy’s in so I can avoid that area of town?

Just in case I visit Atlanta soon and have a hankering for a Triple Baconator?

Of course not- he'd want the cop charged with negligent homicide...would be pissed when reduced to manslaughter.

Geez, someone willing to fire a weapon at a police officer has proven that they have ZERO value for ANY human life. He was a threat to everyone after doing that and had to be stopped.

You are an imbecile.

cops use it as non-lethal force. are you suggesting that it is lethal force by cops?

So I guess we live in a world where a criminal can shoot a taser at a cop but a cop can't shoot back?
And people wonder why the employment candidate pool is so thin... no one needs this, muchless wants it.

That's not the word I would use.

Horrifying is the word I would use.

As pointed out by numerous people in the thread, this exact DA did two weeks ago when charging cops who tazed some protesters.

Now it isn’t lethal force because it helps him to ignore that.

Incorrect. Police use it as LESS lethal force. It can and has resulted in death.
